Anyone using a tablet as a secondary monitor for a laptop?

I just got my first tablet as a Christmas gift, and since I didn't need it, I still don't, BUT I thought that it will be good if I find a purpose for it. So, I figured I use it as a second monitor for my laptop.
Now, the thing is, I can't seem to find a good way to connect it, so if you guys have tried it and succeeded, please let me know.
It looks like I have to download some apps and what not in order to do it, plus it is not free. I find it quite amazing that it is not possible to do it unless you pay...
So, what is the best way to do it?
Thanks. :thumbsup

Check this out if it's an iPad: https://panic.com/statusboard/

I have not tried it myself yet, but it looks pretty neat.

I've never tried to use a tablet as an extra monitor. I would just buy another monitor - In fact, that's exactly what I did. I have a huge Alienware laptop and I have it hooked up to a second monitor, and I have a M$ Surface and a "floating" monitor that moves from room to room as needed and I use it with my Surface (although honestly, not often; The Surface is mostly used as tablet while watching TV and perhaps some light reading).

I can't imagine someone doesn't have a need for a tablet - Tablets are great for when you don't want to fire up the latop and just want to relax on the couch.

Ad nauseam.

Instead of offering a suggestion or solution to the OP's original question - you provide us with yet another rambling inventory of your stuff - because apparently we needed a reminder of how much you own...and therefore how amazingly successful you've been...and what a great life you lead. And how it sucks not to be you. And how we should all aspire to be just like you.

Rochard, you may very well be an okay kind've guy IRL - but much of the time your online personna comes across as a boorish braggard.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I guess I will have to pay for some apps in order to do it. I will take pics.
It is a simple Lenovo tablet, and it doesn't have HDMI.
In the meantime, I will just relax on the couch. :)

It wouldn't be a thread if it didn't have Rochard the retard running his mouth about something he owns that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

It's funny that everyone else sees that he does this, but he's too dumb to realize it himself.

All i noticed was that he didn't mention being in the Marines, nor did he start his rambling with his standard admission... "what i don't understand is..".
Maybe you're just a "this glass is 1/2 empty" kind of guy??

In my world, the shot glass goes from full to empty - no inbetween.

Can't fly on one wing.

Yes, I'm pretty fly for a white buy because I have a handful of... laptops?

So let me see if I understand this correctly - I cannot discuss Mustangs, being in the military, and now laptops I own. I understand now.

and... once again, he doesn't understand something and in an odd twist, chooses to express that fact this time by insisting that he does.

Rochard, this is quite simple. The constant making fun of you is the world telling you something about your own behavior. It's a reflection of you and your actions. Maybe you should stop to think for once about WHY people are saying these things again and again??
