Is Russia's Putin Going to Avenge the Turkish Downing of a Russian Jet Fighter?

Is Putin going to flex his muscle? Or is he all talk? Where is Cyberceo to answer this question?

No, he said, let them try to fly
PS: can not fly combat aircraft in the territory of a sovereign country. it is international law.

are you referring to the russian craft flying in syria?

i think they closed syrian airspace immediately, and set up a bunch of anti aircraft along the turkish border

Syria no longer has control of its territorial airspace.
Syria no longer controls 2/3 of its land mass territory.
Syria has no territorial integrity.
Syria is a failed state.
Syria is a no man's land for all intents and purposes.

In the colloquial: Syria is a shooting gallery.

is that some sort of justification on how international law doesn't apply to western forces? It would have applied before all these things had occurred, so we'd still be in violation, wouldn't we?

Turkish military aircrafts don't fly over Syria anymore. That's a fact. Actually I have predicted it on the same day when Russian bomber was downed. I have said that Russia will be hunting on Turkish warplanes and they will stop just flying there. I'm not reading Putin's mind, that's just a standard military response (routine).

That Su-24 was NOT bombing ISIS. It was bombing Turkmen - the ethnic Turks in Syria near the Turkish border. That's why it was downed. If you still didn't get it, try to imagine some foreign (say Albanian) plane which bombs ethnic Russians somewhere in Belorussia or Ukraine near our border. Would we tolerate it? No? So why Turks have to tolerate ours doing the same?

Hint: Sometimes it worth to look at the map before you post.

I do not think Putin wants to be reconciled with Turkey.
The more external conflicts more easily build autarky and rule forever.

Only Putin could say that bullshit, because he is a moron (an old stupid clown who believes he is a special one). Why do you re-post it here? Almost all Russians citizens who fight for jihadists in Syria are police database. We both know it. If they will decide to return, they will be arrested right at customs. It's easy, quite and cost no single ruble to the Russian taxpayers. Now tell me how "easy" it will be to find and bomb them in Syria. Do we have some special secret technology which will allow our planes to scan all people in Syria to find out if they are Russian citizens and then destroy their brains with a laser bean or with high precision cruise missiles? I said that Turkish convoy (with military or civilian goods - doesn't matter) was attacked by Russia and there was no response from their NATO "allies". Nobody cares if there were weapons or foods. The facts are: they convoy has belong to a NATO country, it was attacked by Russian army as a revenge and there was no response to it. I thought my post was written in English.

Nobody can predict his further actions (I've mentioned it in my first post to this thread). The problem is that Putin loves to make shows from anything. Also he is used to wait for about 6-24 months before to show his reaction to high-profile events.

As I said already, Russia has started hunting for Turkish warplanes, but Turks were wise enough to completely stop flying over Syria. That's why Russians decided to attack that Turkish truck convoy (simple there was no other Turkish targets for a revenge). If you ask me about it, I'll tell you that I DO NOT SUPPORT such actions at all. I'm my opinion it was just a plain stupid and barbarian attack.

But the two choices I listed as possibilities (muscle flexing or saber rattling) does not require you to read his mind. Even if Putin is too unpredictable to forecast his specific retaliatory action, one could still have an opinion as to whether Putin will flex his muscle, or will merely continue to rattle his saber..
