What belongs in a well stocked bar?
 

I drink Bud Light and Crown/Jack etc so thats it for me except some sprite to mix with but I was wondering, what belongs in a well stocked bar? What are the necessities for entertaining if you wanted to be able to accomodate most guests drink requests?

Vodka.

actually, aside from vodka, there should be goldschlagger, jack daniels, amaretto, bailey's, kahlua and these new vanilla flavoured vodkas.

and you can't forget Labatt Bleue Dry

Hahaha... actually, all I have right now in my "bar" (my fridge) is about 3-4 oz of Smirnoff Vanilla Twist vodka, 3-4 oz of Goldschlagger, half a litre of Jamaican rum, ten Rickard's Red, 5 Molson Smooth and 1 Bleue Dry

i tried it for the first time this weekend and i'm in love. it goes down so smooth. it's incredible with orange juice, orange punch or orange crush.

nice, i'll have to pick that up next time i stock up on beverage!

should try that raspberry twish with cranberry juice and a splash of OJ, god damn talk about tasty and smooth, before i even realize it i'm 1/2 a bottle in and feelin pretty toasty

Sambucca. A drink isn't fun unless you can light it on fire.

I used to love Sambucca until I got really, really fucking wasted on it.

Is that a MAC?

yep. all i use are macs, and freebsd machines.

i always keep the basics on hand:

vodka
gin
rum
whiskey
jack
white wine
red wine

tonic
soda water
coke
sprite
orange
cranberry

some domestic beer
some imported beer


then depending on when you come over i usually have:

baileys
kaluah
some schnapps (peach and raspberry)

i like knowing that I can invite friends over at anytime

you can always stock your bar with the bare minimum - keep wine and beer on hand.

red rum

vodka vodka vodka - don't have a preference - just nothing that is charcoal filtered or comes in a plastic jub

makers mark - whiskey

gran marnier

patron or hussongs tequila for shots

or sauza tequila for margaritas

kaluha, baileys, and other mixers

that's a good start to a liver problem.

oh yeh - and lots of red wine

corona's.

One thing to make sure you keep stocked is Scotch.

Scotch is a very common business drink, and i highly recommend keeping it stocked.

Nothing beats Scotch on the rocks

I played with one in Fry's the other day and almost walked out with it.

Good call on everything... that's pretty much exactly how I would have it... the only thing I would add even though it's a pain in the ass is lemons, limes, cherries and several lbs. of ice.

What I keep on hand:
Vodka
Whisky
Tequila
Beer
Red/White Wine
Wine Coolers (females like these)
Plus an assortment of non-alcoholic drinks to mix.

Its unrealistic to have every brand or drink possible, on hand. Just stick to the basics and the drinks you enjoy.

Yea, you really need the basics and a ton of mixers.
