Last night's episode was boring as fuck.

The Leftovers was better.

Awe.. You mean one of the most popular shows on TV didn't entertain you? Awe. I' sure Walking Dead could use you as a writer, get ahold of them.

Basically it's a lot of "oh noes! we trapped!"

Why do people get bored when they are developing characters? People say the Morgan episode was boring. If you follow the story from the beginning, he's in the beginning. Then they meet up with him later and his kid is dead. He's crazy. Then they set up HOBO marks on trees which I assume are for Morgan. Rick knows he's following. Then all of a sudden he's a badass with a "staff." So in order for inquiring minds an episode is created. What part was boring? The fact it made people pay attending instead of mouth breathing eating pizza? It was well done and made sense to Morgan's unwilling to break a code of not killing. If it has to be action packed zombie killing without a story line, you may as well watch a shit flick off Netflix. Pretty straight forward on being one of the best shows around.

I lost interest in the show some time ago really. Once the two cops were fighting over the one chick I was out. It became too much of a soap opera for me. I haven't been back since, but now I hear it's gotten good again - until this thread.

A lot of time went by from the time him and Rick first met, and when Rick came across him holed up in his crazy hermit town all by himself. No back story was needed to explain how he took over an entire town, stockpiled a shitload of weapons, and was able to build that garbage zombie obstacle course all by himself. So I'm OK with him suddenly being able to use a broomstick - no back story required.

This is my opinion, but he's a one-dimensional character, and I'm not a huge fan. He could easily die the next episode, and it wouldn't bother me a bit. People like him end up getting other people killed. Like I said, my opinion, not everyone elses'. Everyone has different tastes.

GFY isn't a good measurement to see how well a TV show is performing. You gave up very early. You're talking Season 2 back in 2011-2012. The Morgan episode from last week was incredibly good. It was like an independent movie within the show.

soap opera = ratings and grabbing the audience who is not usually up for quality series. Not saying that everybody who watch walking dead is not quality series fans (I watch it myself), just saying that big chuck of viewers are "average joes".
So I would not taunt huge viewers numbers as prof that the show is the best or something. It simply attracts more wide audience.

Well, well, well...the Asian Sensation may not be dead after all. In the comic (sorry, graphic novel), Glenn is killed by a bad guy named Negan. And today, guess who they announced is going to appear on the show? Yep, Jefferey Dean Morgan was cast as Negan for future episodes. :thumbsup

Really people, everything isn't about constant action or blood and guts.. I thought the Morgan episode is very good as it told his story. Bad timing in the plot of things but we all know you pansies are just wondering if Glen is gonna be resurrected from the dead or not..

I will say Morgan's teacher kinda died like a chump as he didn't need to get himself killed to stop the zombie..

The Leftovers is firing on all cylinders for sure. The acting, writing, music and emotional punch is there.

Every once in a while Walking Dead has a stinky episode. I don't mind the episodes with little action, but some of the dialogue in the talk heavy parts are really on-the-nose and just characters giving one speech after another.

But other times it's subtle with lots of subtext. I think this is because they have a rotating pool of writers, and a couple of them suck donkey dick.

Its lost its momentum years ago

The moment they closed the screen behind the gate, I started to question the thinking behind the writing. Stabbing walkers through the head and they form a protecting barrier.

Still any series like this that hasn't figured out a dagger is not a good weapon against zombies, a Gladius would be far better. And an arm or hand to hold off an enemy with a lethal bite is useless compared to a shield. Can't be held up for reality writing.

The obvious plan was for the some residents to get out via the back exit, and create a diversion rather than wait for people they don't know are coming. I guess no one on the writing team has a clue.

Which doesn't say much for the rest.

I'm enjoying Vikings, it shows how small groups of petty minded leaders. Are more interested in grabbing little bit of power, instead of working together to gain huge wealth.

I can ignore the Historical mistakes. The problem for younger people is, do they think it's a true representation of the times?

Yep, you can add making icecream in some rig to that list. Don't ask me, i don't have a clue what that means. And asking brasshat himself is also a futile mission.

i partly agree, about the morgan episode... in a zombie apocalypse kind of way it was a strong episode (i thought it was pretty entertaining) but yes the timing in the plot was way off.

However the last episode was painful to sit through. We know the emotional shit. It was a fucking soap opera, dragging on for the whole episode. I don't care about Glenn, i think every episode needs suspense or action, or both. This one, again, seemed like a filler episode wasting everyones time.

Went completely downhill. Just spoke with a buddy who watches it, he said he almost forces himself to watch it just because he was watching it for so many seasons.
And it hit me that it is same for me.
Boooooooring.

Obviously, they can't build walls as well as Trump can.. Otherwise they would have no problems keeping the zombies out of their compound.

Not sure if series quality depends on that. Maybe it would have been even more boring.

For every good episode there are 3 awful ones. Not really worth it.
