that's it, trump blew it

he looked more wooden than algore last night.

this is the beginning of the end. like when titantic just hit the ice & nobody knew the fate to come. he should never took this gig. very bad optics, didnt look like a winner.

only question is who the media will anoint to take over as front runner.

It was some weird television. Didn't saturday night live used to be funny? They all seemed rather fake.

it has phases depending on talent. i feel like the creative times are abnormally weak nowadays. music is nothing new anymore, same with movies. TV at the top is the only innovator. the rest of TV, like reality or daytime, is horrible.

personally i blame political correctness for washing out all racy, AKA offensive & sexy concepts out of entertainment. seinfeld wont even perform at college now. its gross.

:(

Yes it is as if the television never offended some idiot before.
I used to flip the channels as a child and see recorded surgeries being performed.
Times have certainly changed. It's almost at the stage now where it is a ruined medium.
Useless for little more than propaganda. That's what I watched last night anyway.

This is exactly what our parents used to say..... When you say "there is nothing new any more" it really means "you are now old and don't like anything hip". I'm not mocking you; I am just as guilty as you.

BIGTYMER 11-08-2015 09:33 PM

I thought he was ok.

Don't blame him. SNL hasn't been funny in a long time.

Feeling better knowing I'm not alone with the same mindset.

So political correctness is the new hip, thanks for clearing that up. If you meant something else then I'm sorry.

yes your right he was OK. Thats the problem. this is the deal. when a candidate goes out on a limb in an entertainment scenario, you gotta hit a home run. like when clinton played the saxophone in 92, home run. He could play well, it was impressive, it connected.

in contrast, having trump surrounded by B-list talent that didnt even want to be with him made him look small. His entire appeal is hi-energy, winning, doing flyovers with his 757. This look was almost like looking at the wizard of oz when the curtain was pulled. He doesnt have the substance to have his curtain pulled.

just IMO. its just hard to see who takes his mantle. i like kasich myself. but the media will never give him the time of day.

:2 cents:

Not sure how old your parents are/were, but certainly not what my parents said. It was more along the lines of, "You won't be hearing this in 20 years." Boy, did they have that wrong.

Did not see the episode, but yeah; in a very long time.

Trump didn't blow it, SNL blew it. He did fine, actually, given the shitty material to work with. see my trump SNL thread for more. but he certainly introduced a lot of people to how shitty SNL is these days.

nah man, he did blow it. he did this gig for ego. he didnt think through how an actual show would play out. he is like hilary where he loves the campaign. but as soon as he has to go to work, he doesnt look good. its a very worrisome foreshadow of if he were to lead. kinda like when shuttle columbia blew up right before the iraq invasion. im very zen on matters like this. it wasnt a good sign. just IMO.

to some extent sure but growing up in the 90's i still preferred led zeppelin, pink floyd and the beatles to anything current. i'd say there are 'golden era's' that will have a lot more longevity than others. i wouldn't say there is much right now that will have longevity.

Robbie 11-09-2015 02:59 PM

RIP Trump.

By the way, the ratings came in. Highest rated SNL episode in YEARS:
Donald Trump gives 'SNL' its biggest ratings in years | EW.com

And in the latest polls, Trump has moved back ahead of Carson in both Iowa and nationally.

RIP Trump...it was a good run while it lasted. :(

2MuchMark 11-09-2015 04:07 PM

Trump should have just done a cameo like Obama and Clinton did.

?TV ads are necessary, they can be effective, but in terms of overall value, being the host of ?Saturday Night Live? is probably going to get you a lot more as a candidate than 20 ?super PAC? ads,? said Dave Levinthal, senior political reporter at the Center for Public Integrity.

He's hosted the show before. Plus he's a real New York guy (unlike Hillary), and SNL is part of the city.

RyuLion 11-09-2015 08:22 PM

Good riddance..

VikingMan 11-09-2015 09:33 PM

Why would anyone like him ever do that show? It is embarrassingly bad.

It wasn't the mountain of other horseshit that's been going on since he came down that escalator a year and half ago...it's because he wasn't acting like a manic freakshow. The only thing wooden is your brain.
