Server administration service

Hello,

For a new project I'm thinking of going the unmanaged way for a test. I was always on a managed plan, but I would like to try unmanaged.

Since I lack knowledge in server stuff, I'm looking for a server administration service. Did anybody use any 'external' server administration services to manage your own unmanaged server? If so what was your experience?

I found some services like ... Linux Server Management - Professional System Administration - AdminGeekZ Cloud and Server Management or https://www.supportpro.com/

I hope I can get some good feedback.

Thank you!

What's the point? Going unmanaged and then paying for an admin kinda moots the point.

Is the admin trustworthy? Will he steal your shit? Does he know what he's doing? Will he fix your server at 3am? Will he respond to an urgent issue within minutes?

Why risk it to save a few bucks? Just my :2 cents:.

You are right if you think like that, it does moots the point, that is why I'm asking if anybody know a reputable company, not individual admins.

As for your questions, yes, those companies will do most of that stuff and I would not save just a few bucks to be honest with you. :)

One advantage of separating administration and hosting is that you're not tied to a specific host: you can shift hosts, or add a box at another host, and still have the same guy looking after the whole system.

There is the trust factor, of course. I do my own admin and get nervous when a host asks for my root login. :)
