Check this out - It'll take 3-4 weeks to do, and your credit should be a little shinier after around 4-6 months.

Go take $400.00 to a bank, and get a secured loan for 400, take that 400 and go to a second bank and do the same, take THAT 400 and go back tot he first bank and pay off that first secured loan, get your 400 bucks back and go to the second and third and do the same, getting back your 400 bucks after you pay all of them back. Wait a week between each borrow and payoff.

Each bank will report that you took out a loan and swiftly paid it in full.

That's cute, but when you get a loan the banks check if you've applied for loans elsewhere recently, which raises the risk to them. Anybody know if this is possible for small amounts like this?

Hence the "secured" loan.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I do...I'll have to wait a week and see exactly what's still on it...I went a little credit card happy on a months stay in europe about 6 years ago...amdam's hash and hookers was the death of me...

Doesn't it only take like 7 years for shit to fall off your report?

7 years from the date paid, for delinquent accounts its 7 years
from the date the account went into a collection/charge off status.

Banks normally wont loan under 2500.00, at least up here ....

I bought a car with quite a bit of cash. I needed about 25% financing, $ 8.000.00 . They refused unless the loan was no less than $ 10,000.00 ...

hybrid 03-19-2003 05:10 PM

I'm not going to argue about bank policies. It's more than retarded. It works, if you don't believe me, call your financial institution.

O'h yea and the way to get negative accounts deleted from your credit report is to contact your creditors and make an arrangement with them. Ask them if they are willing to delete the negative account completely off your credit report if you pay in full, and make sure they send you a letter stating that the account is to be removed after you pay them. And make sure that you then contact all the 3 credit bureaus and file a dispute:
"account to be deleted per credit grantor". The credit burea then will contact your creditor and verify that it's to be removed, and if the creditor confirms, the derog accnt will be removed!

Creditors do this ALL THE TIME.... If they say they can't do it, become ask for a supervisor...

Do this with all your negative accounts...

the Shemp 03-19-2003 05:16 PM

Many car dealers do in house financing if you have a decent size downpayment or deposit.

I'm thinking this is a better option than trying to buy it all from a dealer.

The shitty thing is this...there's no more than like 2k in delinquincy or collections on my credit. My limits weren't that high and I did pay some back...I'm amazed that 2k can turn your credit this bad...

GTS Mark 03-19-2003 05:45 PM

Are all your loans paid off that were delinquent? Sorry if you answered this above?

Even if you pay your debts off, the record of the delinquency remains with the credit bureau. Any creditor will know you had financial problems. Talk to a car dealer, they know how to do it :)

Anyone know if deliquincies fall off your report completely after 7 years?

Walk into your nearest branch of Bank Of America with a shotgun and ski-mask.

If you ask them to give you all their money whilst waving the shotgun around your monetary problems will be solved :thumbsup

However, you just have to figure out how you make it outta the bank alive :thumbsup

Regards,

Lee

Hi, have personally done this?

I'm in the process of doing it myself, and I'm having success when I work directly with the creditor, but not when it's through a collections agency. They couldn't give a shit.

Also, can you still do this if they've written the loan off as bad?

Yes, I bought my first new car in 2001. All I had were some fat 3 month old sponsor checks and $5000 cash when I walked in. The salesman set it all up. I have no idea what he did but he told me he would take care of it. It was only an $18,000 car but he told me he could get me pretty much anything I wanted for $5000 to $7000 down.

Pay all your depts & wait 7 years before applying for any kind of credit:)

Simple debts like credit cards fall off after it has been seven years since they went delinquent. I believe that if you make a payment that resets the clock. So you might think you were doing good sending them $20 to show good faith, but you would be actually keeping the delinquency on your record for another seven years.

It is easier to finance buying a new car than any other kind of credit. They know they can just take the car back if you do not pay. If the first dealership says no, just shop around. You might get a sucky percentage, but you also get to establish credit.

Those are scams. I read on MSN recently where credit bureaus will notate your account if they discover you are using a "credit repair clinic". $2k is nothing, do what was suggested earlier - negotiate with the creditor to remove the entry in exchange for payment.
