TV license gives British viewers TV with no breaks, no advertising. I had no problem paying for my license :2 cents:

I pay for mine too, but I understand why some people don't want to. The BBC is meant to be unbiased, that's one reason why a lot of people get upset. I mainly watch Sky stuff, but I do watch Dragons Den on BBC, that's about it apart from an odd show that comes up :2 cents:

NHK in Japan has the same racket. People are fighting it as well. A few good docs, rest is shit bias.

TV License

They still have TV licenses in the UK?

I remember as a kid reading Mechanix Illustrated (1960s) and they showed a van going around the UK, that would find people getting TV without a license.

After all the commercials on US TV, I'd pay a monthly fee for no commercials.

OH WAIT, I DO. IT'S CALLED CABLE TV. Except I still get the fucking commercials.

Not to mention you get really good quality TV as well. Sure a lot of it is junk but now and then there is some real good stuff that becomes very popular. Too many people bitching and complaining to save $200 a year, or whatever the fee is, if you watch TV in the UK, get your license. The same people have no problem paying $200 a month for Sky or Virgin Media where you watch adverts every 8 mins or get upsold to higher packages to watch sports, movies, etc.

When I compare it to how much I pay for Sky, it's a bargain :thumbsup

I don't watch a single thing on BBC.

It should be an "opt in" service. Want the channels ? Pay.
Don't want ? Don't receive. .. :2 cents:
