have you guys checked out charles bronson???
Sounds to me like he is a scared little kid afraid of living in the real world. He actually needs to be in prison, for some reason. From what I've read about him, he had a real chance to be normal. A long, long, time ago.
Tom Hardy played him in a movie and he was awesome.
Jeez... tough guy.
Wow, as I was reading the article I was thinking this must be made into a movie, further down the page I read one's already been made.
He's one guy, even as crazy and strong as he is, how can these prisons have such a hard time controlling him? Zoos handle wild animals bigger and more dangerous than him, shoot him with a tranquilizer dart. What a shame, I like his illustrations, he has talent and intelligence. Many cons who are in for a long time don't really want to leave, and like this guy once they're released are quickly back in jail - 3 hots and a cot, no responsibilities, work out, books - better life than many. It sounds like the British prison system is run by Mr Bean types. |
Our office manager's sister is his psychiatrist apparently.

Documentary from 2000 on him
Go watch the movie. It's great -- and on Netflix.
i don't glorify criminals and participate in making them celebrities, so no, i haven't checked out the thug lifetime criminal.

absolutely no reason to admire him in any way, he is spending his almost whole life in prison because he couldn't behave like normal people outside.

Everyone knows him. I remember some years ago he took a teacher hostage in Luton and bashed his brains out... according to the myth, he has the strength of many men. He wrote a book "Solitary Fitness" explaining how to become strong without any gym facilities. He's insane and VERY VIOLENT and he's bashed a lot of people up but amazing, I don't (think) he aimed to kill people, just bash them up properly and terrorise.
According to the above article: "It’s a documented fact that Charles Bronson has exhibited almost superhuman strength during his time inside. For example, he’s been known to bend steel cell doors with nothing but his bare hands and he once held a world record for push-ups—he claims to do 2,000 every day. " "While in jail, Charles Bronson met and befriended Ronnie and Reggie Kray, Britain’s most violent and dangerous gangsters. Bronson described them as “the best two guys I’ve ever met in my life.” In 1987, Bronson was due to be released and was looking for something to do on the outside. He was introduced to a friend of the Krays who set up him up as an illegal bare-knuckle prizefighter." "In 1996, Bronson took two Iraqi terrorists and a third prisoner hostage after one of them accidentally bumped into him and didn’t apologize. During the hostage situation, he forced them to tickle his feet and call him “general.” The experience for these hostages must have been pretty terrifying. At one point, he tried to force them to hit him over the head with a heavy, metal tray and when they refused, he grabbed a razor blade and began to slash his upper body." |

He's absolutely crackers but Tom Hardy played him so well. Tom Hardy has also played both Kray twins in his new film Legend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI3v6KfR9Mw |
Now this guy can fight.
