Is this a joke or are you serious? You never know on GFY.

Canada is cheaper, but the U.S. is the U.S. Both have their good points and their bad points.

xerox 03-19-2003 07:22 AM

goto canada. i doubt they will get bombed anytime soon

BRISK 03-19-2003 07:23 AM

Fly to Vancouver between May and August and have a look. You should also go on a trip through the Rocky Mountains.

:thumbsup

BRISK 03-19-2003 07:26 AM

Yeah, being from Egypt and having porn as a career isn't gonna go over too well with any immigration department in any country.

Well, maybe the Netherlands

Raider Mort 03-19-2003 07:29 AM

Definately USA. It has Disney on both coasts.

Canada!

1. Beer
2. Montreal girls

BRISK 03-19-2003 07:39 AM

Asking the question "which country is better" is kinda hard.

Canadians are gonna say Canada is better

Americans are gonna say America is better

You need to go to both and decide for yourself

They're both good countries. You could do a lot worse.

angeleyes 03-19-2003 07:40 AM

Move to Florida... it's always hot here. :2 cents:

Gman.357 03-19-2003 07:41 AM

I bet this is going to be a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGG thread.

Just a hunch. :winkwink:

RodeoCowboy 03-19-2003 07:55 AM

Canadian cities are consistently ranked in the top 20 best cities in the world to live in. Vancouver was ranked no. 1 (tied with melbourne) and Toronto ranked no. 4 in recent poll by the Economist. U.S. cities don't even rank in top 20. Canada is ranked 3rd by U.N. for best quality of life (Norway is no. 1, Sweden no. 2). U.S. is ranked 6th.
Yes Canada has higher taxes but has free medical, cheaper universities, and much less poverty and crime. Somebody has got to pay for this. What sucks about Canada is the weather. Its fucking cold for about 5 months of the year. Between May to October the weather is usually great, November to March you will freeze your balls.
The good thing about the U.S. is the climate. If you prefer warmer climate Florida is wonderful place to live. Yes the taxes are much less in U.S. but cost of living is much higher and no free medical. Also much higher crime rates in U.S. cities.
If you want cheaper taxes and warmer weather U.S. is best. If you want more safety, cheaper cost of living and clean cities to live in then Canada is best.

They are as hot as NYC girls, but without the pretentious attitude.

If I were a non-US webmaster I'd probably move to Amsterdam.

hershie 03-19-2003 10:39 AM

For me, natural beauty is of upmost importance. If you could move anywhere - certainly having the ocean, mountains, clean air...must be considered. On that score - Vancouver has to rank very high. I live across the street from a sandy beach and the ocean and I am in downtown!

Move to Mexico

twistyneck 03-19-2003 11:05 AM

You should move to Canada. Or Mexico. Or Zimbabwe. We don't want you here in the U.S.

directfiesta 03-19-2003 11:10 AM

If you are going to move, go to a nice place ( by the way, I am in Canada, so ... )

Costa-Rica, Dominican Republica or other islands that are corrupt so friendly to investment even if porn....

And no winter.

Otherwise, forget the US: they will put you in a detention camp ....

Canada, maybe we will accept you, but find a temporary qualification other than porn .... something social ... nurse ( even male) would be great....

Exactly why canada suxs.

We are a socialist capitalist country.

We pay as much in taxs as the socialist countries do but have limited benefits like the capitalist countries.

You can say "Oh canada has free health care" And I will tell you are you fucking joking. We pay 25% more taxs because of it and most of the free health care is going to paid or 2-teir health care.
Though we will stil pay the 25% more in taxs for it even though our government is raping us up the ass.

This country suxs.

Here in BC, they ding you for an extra $56/month health care user fee, so it doesn't even stop with the extra taxes.

Spunky 03-19-2003 11:25 AM

What country can defend themselves and take over the world if they really wanted?

U.S.A.!

KRL 03-19-2003 11:47 AM

They both have their pluses and minuses. Best thing to do is take a trip to both for a couple of weeks. Usually you'll pickup the yeh this is home vibe / gut instinct pretty quick.

You should get a tourist visa and visit various parts of both countries (if you haven't already). Find a city/culture/climate/cost-of-living that agrees with you. Both countries have their good and bad points.

Do not try to overstay a tourist visa. That's just foolishness and will wreck your chances of being able to immigrate legally.

Leave the porn off your application. Talk up the technical or business side of things. If you can find a sponsor in the US or Canada so much the better.

Hmmm......both Canada and the U.S. are great places to live but what it ultimately boils down to is what are you looking for?

In the U.S. you can find anything you want. You can live in a tropical region that combines the best of the U.S. and the best of South America (Miami). You can live in one of the most happening cities in the world, NYC. You could live in a very liberal, open-minded city like San Fran. You could live in the beautiful wine country, Napa/Sonoma. You could live amongst the movie biz in L.A. Then there's New Orleans.....Seattle.......Tahoe.......South Florida......Chicago......

Shit, there's so much in the U.S. Canada is great too, but the entire country is north of the U.S. and its population is about 1/10th the size, so you're going to find less choices.

.:Frog:. 03-19-2003 02:03 PM

Canada has better living standards, so that would be my choice.

As for specific cities,
Vancouver is probably the best. Winters can still be cold but normally the temp is above freezing and it doesn't snow often.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Canada isn't as racist as the US. In Vancouver about 1/3 population is Chinese, and there are lots of East Indians. White people being the majority. I don't see alot of racism, infact almost none.
You don't have that shit to worry about here, but I can't say the same for certain places in the US.

Trolleater 03-19-2003 02:47 PM

Either the east or west coast of Canada would be your best choice....both are beautiful.

Nova Scotia is one of the most visited spots in the world by tourists each year.

Winters are pretty much the same as BC

nobody hates chinese people.
Other than on average being bad drivers.. they mind their own business and dont cause all that much trouble.
try moving to toronto or areas that are over populated with welfare sucking somolians and you'll see racism in a whole new light. and no . I am not generalizing them all .. just talking about the typical ones. I am sure canada has let 3 or 4 in that do work for their own cash .

Canada is just as racist .. we're just more polite about it .
its is and will become more obvious as they let more and more " refugees " in .

I dont know how the states are .. but over the last ten years I have seen areas go to total shit after a flood of somolian or afgany refugees take up the area.

Fact is canada addresses racsim differently .We set these guys up for success and it gets abused .
Go to tim hortons in the ridea center. not one " canadian " working there.
not that thats a problem . but they cant speak english .
and 15 feet away you have canadian students that speak english . looking all over for work .

I havent even been to the states. but I imagine its really not all that different .
It looks that way in comparison due to the differences in poplation .

There's racism in Canada, too, just different. However, Canada does rank as the most hospitable country to immigrants. Guess who ranks 2nd? The U.S. They're a lot less tolerant of immigrants in Europe.

Canada isn't racist? What are you on CRACK?

I've never been stopped more in traffic for shit other than Canada. I've driven through drunk stops everywhere in florida (Known for stupid racist shit) and never was asked to pull over for a safety check.

Yeah, not racist my ass. In 3 years up there, I've almost got into 4 fights over race, which btw, in 20 years in the US not one.
