imho the lyrics are a lot more gritty and true to life..he definitely has a good flow for story telling..but the gritty tracks are the ones that the dungeon family produced

psyko514 03-18-2003 11:31 PM

he has a sick flow. i loved him in The Whole World. I saw him the other night on the Dave Chappelle show and he kicked ass. thanks for reminding me!

Aquemini Records standin strong! Slimm Calhoun was slept on,I'm glad Mike is getting his just do

for anybody not aware of who he is I'm sure most of you bandwagon hiphop fans have the blueprint 2,he's on poppin tags...Also Funkanella from the old DJ mix tape..and snappin and trappin from Stankonia...NOTHING like Outkast, his content is relatable to Big Boi but not Outkast

Earthtone III,Cool Breeze, lil Jon and Organized Noize did the Production

Outkast double LP coming in 3 months :glugglug

hey toodamnfli, since it seems you're quite informed, there was this tune from The Roots I've seen the video 2 or 3 times but can't remember the name of the song. It featured a very persistent "darky" bass line and the song was about war or peace don't remember exactly, I've heard it for the last time like 4 years ago. Any idea about which song could it be?

What's up with all the Screw haters in this place, and who said I'm looking for a role model? That's real music right there guys, that's Texas music. Yeah there are more that I like but that was just a few off the top of my head, I'm about real hip hop, yeah I like PE, Gangstarr, EPMD, Too Short, NWA, Freddie Foxx, Ant Banks, E-40, Mos Def and many more. As long as it's real hip hop and not all about cars and jewelry then I can hear it.

Screw is more than just slowing down the music, it's the freestyles over the music when it's slowed down and it's an attitude and a culture now, with all the others in Houston trying to copy the style. They call it screw music, well they named it after him so it's bigger than just slowing a record down. Everyone has to find their niche and make it work, he didn't make people buy it. It's just like rhyming over sampled music which nearly all hip hop artists do and you aren't questioning that too are you?

Hey, don't worry about that shit DigiPimp. I'm from Texas, and dead or not, the only thing I listen to is DJ Screw, Swisha House, & Freestyle Kingz. Hell if you're interested, I got a decent collection of my own custom made chopped & screwed songs that I made myself with Virtual Turntables that I may put to Kazaa so you can check a few out. Hit me up.
