Downloading Windows 10

*hope it's great*

:)

incredibleworkethic 07-29-2015 03:23 AM

Don't know how long it was downloading but from start to finish about 30-40 minutes. D/L must have started when I clicked into windows update.

Satisfied. All my programs and settings remain the same with this different copy. :)

You didn't check out the beta first?

That's ok. Windows 10 is excellent. I can't imagine anyone not liking it.

CaptainHowdy 07-29-2015 06:17 AM

I'll try to avoid that ...

Oracle Porn 07-29-2015 06:23 AM

poncabare 07-29-2015 06:45 AM

I did actually, but on the computer I used to work on didn't have any good older Nvidia drivers at the time. I use an external monitor with a laptop and it just didn't work :(. Probably Nvidia problem.

With this machine, everything worked fine.

Good luck.

I just installed, really smooth and clean. I keep hearing an alert though and not sure where the fuck it is coming from. Ive been installed for about 20-30 minutes now and have heard this sound 5 times. The very first one

Darkhorse 07-29-2015 05:54 PM

Installing it on my systems atm.

ErectMedia 07-29-2015 07:49 PM

Will upgrade 8 soon, just like to wait a short bit in case of security issues or safety bulletins like first users all contracted Syphillis. :2 cents:

freecartoonporn 07-29-2015 08:07 PM

It only took me around 25-30 minutes or so to upgrade from 7 to Windows 10 and then to do a clean install, setup is very fast and easy. Once you do the upgrade Windows 10 is activated on your hardware so you can do clean installs with a Windows 10 ISO and it will always be activated on that computer.

What about programs like Skype? I'm on 8.1 right now, and my skype account is different than my windows account that I have signed in for 8.1 So rather that using the built in Skype (which only allows me to sign in to my pc associated windows account), I also have "skype for desktop" downloaded that I can sign into with whatever account I want.

Is "for desktop" still an option in Windows 10? Or is it even needed?

MiamiBoyz 07-29-2015 09:33 PM

I had reserved a copy so it downloaded automatically overnight. In the morning I initiated the installation which took about an hour.

I love Windows 7 but I want to get rid of this fucking iPhone and really want a phone that will sync with my computer with no effort and I like that aspect of Win 10 so I upgraded to assure that I like it enough to get a Windows phone for my next smartphone.

So far I like it quite a lot. No issues...except boot a bit slower than before.

bigPunk 07-30-2015 04:53 AM

Looking much better then lame windows 8

Barry-xlovecam 07-30-2015 10:34 AM

@52% D/L on my 'play' Windows PC now. Nothing there i cannot replace and little software installed to lose nor any irreplaceable data.

we will see ...

just jumped to 71 % weeeee!

Andreweb 07-30-2015 11:53 AM

Yes it looks nice and works very well it took me a half of day to download it ! Overall I like it !

Cameltoepro 08-03-2015 10:21 AM

Have windows 7 pro. Got the OK to upgrade from windows. Takes about an hour only to be told it failed. Made sure my 7 was all updated and all. Try 4 times. Keep getting error 8004100E. Did all the research double check for any problems. Still cant up grade. Not impressed at all

michael.kickass 08-03-2015 10:44 AM

I wouldn't have high hopes for it.`:2 cents:

you can force the download or make a cd/flash drive of it by grabbing this tool
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10

I hate apps. Like NaughtyVisions worry about Skype I try to avoid them at all costs and would much rather use the desktop version just about every time.
If I upgrade am I going to be disapointed?

venus 08-03-2015 02:03 PM

if you were referring to my above link, its not an app, its a Microsoft tool to download/install win 10 OR make an installation disk (which you will need eventually)

its hard to say if you will be disappointed, I like it a lot better then 8, its faster then 7
