666 superstition - Yes ? No ?
I have come across the number 666 twice in my business life.
First time was in an email address. I just thought it was a bit weird but thought no more of it. Later down the road I was taken for over $6000 by the guy... Thought it was fishy, but lesson learnt. Second time it was in a business address... While the 666 flagged my 'alert' signal, I decided that its not like you can really choose your business address and it was just a bizarre coincidence... However at that point I did not know about 'mailbox addresses' (I was new to living in the states) but luckily I found out just in time. Had I continued on, further into the deal, I would have been REALLY screwed over - I lost a small amount, but put that down to another 'life lesson' The above happened between 1998 and 2003 - Since then if I even get a sniff of 666 I walk away - But I don't come across it much these days - Until today. Someone gave me a quote for some building work. He said Six hundred and sixty. When I confirmed again at the end of the convo I said so thats £660 then? Yep, he replied... 'I rounded it down...' So, my inner alert flags go off. Its a fair price for he work, and I have no reason to distrust the guy - He's done stuff for me before... So my question is - Is it superstitious mumbo jumbo, or am I right in considering steering clear this time? Please vote - Thanks |
I've won things on two separate occasions involving the number 13.

I am not.
I got a new cell phone the other day and am using it for my business cell.... The number is 916-666...... I call it the devil phone. |
I've encountered 666 multiple times in my life, and have never had a negative experience associated with it. Most times, if I with a friend, we usually throw up the devil horns and laugh.
Likewise, like SK said, I've had good luck with the number 13. One year in little league baseball, my uniform number was 13. I ended up with the best batting average on the team through most of the season. I've claimed 13 as my lucky number since then. For me, it's all superstition, and I don't put much (if any) credit in 666 being bad luck. But I think it depends on the personal, and I think that it's psychological. If you get yourself in the frame of mind that something bad is going to happen, I think you're already paving the path to something bad happening. |
I hate to admit it, but if I had to get a new phone number that had "666" in it, I would be like oh hell no.

666 is my favorite number.

I am called Damian - What do you think?...
I have lost count of the number of people that have looked for 666 on my head - I'm 44 and they still do it..... More than one has been slapped:warning... |
My son was born on the 6th day of the 6th month of the 6th year of the millennium.
|
He rounded it down from 661 or 662, or 663, or 664, or 665, or... :)
As for email addy - it is not the superstition thing when you accidentally get 666, it was the dude who chose that username. People who choose that more often tend to be bad/shady people. |
My "lucky" number is 6.

No such thing as the Devil, no such thing as God, no reason not to trust numbers like 666, numerology is a big fat nothing, just like astrology, voodoo, witchcraft, aliens visiting earth, psychic abilities, magic, ghosts, etc. The only things that count are big beautiful perfect tits.

Too risky for me to give details, perhaps I've said too much already, I can only advise you to hit Google

The description of the devil to large degree is more good than the description of god, to me that fucker is evil as fuck and the idea of a a quite ignoring you god teaches us to ignore evil.

396 - 216 = 180

If the devil exists, then one could suggest he could be the good one, and god was the bad one who wrote a book full of fibs to discredit the good one (devil).

I am not superstitious either, but I love how that number makes people uncomfortable. Even my Mom will freak out and bring more shit to the register if the total of her purchases equals any combination of three sixes. She becomes the queen of spontaneous upsells.

load of old bollocks. you only remember the 'bad' things associated with those numbers because you have been brought up with 666 as 'bad', or 13 as 'unlucky' etc.
If you were told from a young age 11 is 'unlucky' and 777 is 'bad', you'd notice and remember if something 'bad' or 'unlucky' happened related to those numbers. As for other 'bad luck' and 'good luck' stuff like black cats... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-fulfilling_prophecy Though I suspect you're on a bit of a wind up with this thread ;-) |
Apparently America is superstitious because there's no 13th floor, in other Countries I've traveled there's a 13th floor..NO BIG DEAL..:2 cents:
