Can anonymous Surfing be prevented?
Here is what I try to do:
I want to prevent anonymous proxy surfing to my sites. (pages like www.anonymizer.com/) I think .htaccess can do it . Basically it should reload the site if the location address is not exactly like the ususal address. Is there a way to check what the location address is in lets say php? |
You'll never be able to stop anonymous or proxy surfing out there. Ther are just waaay to many open and otherwise proxies that people can use to surf the web.
Thems the facts! |
I just want to prevent some of them that every Joe smug can use. The ones that place their address in front of your URL are the ones I want to block.
|
Unfortunately if you use M$ then you can put any url infront as a proxy...
(If its a proxy) E.G http://proxyipaddresshere:port-_-htt...ursitehere.com Kind of a lost cause |
why do you want to block anonymous surfing?
|
If you are anonymous you are free to fraudulently use credit cards and checks
|
The only way you could do this, is to require a set of the HTTP header values that are typically blocked by proxies (Something you'd have to research). And that would only allow about 80% of your "non-proxy" surfers to use your site. Some ISP's custom browser installs set up a proxy by default, and those surfers would be blocked.
Simply put, it would be a PAIN IN THE ASS to do, and it would be near impossible to make "solid". There are other ways, like using an IP-Block list but that would be a lot of work all the time... GoodLuck -BG |
No,

The Hun uses a script within the head of his page http://thehun.net to prevent http://thehun.at from jacking his page, I'm sure you could use something similar to do what you're asking. There are ways to do what you're asking.
