Constitutional right to same sex marriage

Finally, the pledge of allegiance is more accurate. I remember reciting it as a child and thinking that not everyone had the same rights.

Now maybe we could work on the "liberty and justice for all" part?

mineistaken 06-26-2015 07:22 AM

What about the rights to marry a horse? Not everybody have the same rights!

I think it would have to be made illegal to eat horses before one could legally marry one though right?

Are horses people who are supposed protected by the Constitution?

Last I checked, this is all about two loving and consenting adults being able to marry. Only an imbecile would make it about something else.

People who want to marry a horse are people. :thumbsup

mineistaken 06-26-2015 08:03 AM

Marriage is between man and woman.
Gays have partnership (with the same rights).
Just do not mock marriage institution by calling that thing marriage.

EddyTheDog 06-26-2015 08:03 AM

Very good news - Now what of you guys wants to marry me - I want a green card...

DonJon69 06-26-2015 08:20 AM

I was going to give an opinion but, you know, I just don't give a fuck.

Good for them, now they can be just as miserable as married straight couples.

Just like blacks had their own water fountains and lunch counters.

How can anyone in the adult industry who promotes lesbians and gays think like this?

So why can't a loving consenting adult marry a horse?

Sounds like you're a bigot and like to discriminate against special interest. :2 cents:

MaDalton 06-26-2015 10:01 AM

I do sense some butthurt here (pun intended)

Tom_PM 06-26-2015 10:01 AM

It's the horse who can't consent. Queers the whole deal.

So you're trying to say animals are incapable of feeling love?

You're a sick person. I am pro animal rights.

Did the pledge change? What part of the Constitution discusses the "right" to get married?

"liberty and justice for all"

Liberty: The state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

I went to see the Cavalier / Odysseo show with clients on Wednesday. (VIP tent, Champagne, food, etc). Acrobats, music, and of course, lots of horses. Great show and some people were freaking out ooohing and ahhhing at the horses. No one wanted to marry one though. Fortunately. Phew.

I have since seen the news and understand your thread although having been married numerous times I don't get how "liberty and justice for all" has anything to do with marriage

I think Justice Kennedy said it best in their decision today: "Same-sex couples who want to marry ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right,”

Being oppressed, amongst other things, means that one group of people are seen, and treated, as less than in the eyes of the law. Oppression is taking ones liberty away. Giving the right and socio economic benefit of marriage to one class of citizens, and denying it for another, is oppression, denying them their liberty. Liberty is a right guaranteed by the constitution.

Gay people still are oppressed as they can be fired from a job, or denied services from a business, based solely on their sexual orientation. On the flip side they can now make the same bad marriage choices everyone else can, and pay the same price :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:thumbsup

Great! Now theres going to be daily tracker on Yahoo of D-list celebs and lesbian female athletes we never heard of and their plans to get married to same sex partner.

Holly Lez! 06-26-2015 12:13 PM

LOL at some of the answers here. Go marry a horse if you want. Us gays do not care. It is a great day, for human rights! And we will celebrate.

People in this industry are the biggest hypocrites I have ever come across (in many matters, piracy, et cetera).

Do you cook and clean? Pay bills? Top or bottom? I personally don't see why anyone would give a flying fuck if two people want to be gay married or not. Fucking assholes trying to control the actions of other people in order to feel good about themselves. Absolutely bizarre human behavior. Congrats to all the GFY gays!:thumbsup I imagine gay weddings are lots of fun and there are tons of hot chicks searching for any straight guy to fuck just like in West Hollywood.

That's a good point - what institution? The divorce rate in the US is what? 50%? 55%?

Hopefully when the geys get divorced they don't blow up or shoot people because it will be a feeling they have not yet felt yet. Congrats for the same sex marriages though, as Doctor Luther King once said, small stride for humanity, giant leap for mankind!

This thrills me about as much as hearing someone's religious or political views.

In other words, I dont care. As long I'm left out of it and not forced to hear about it I'm happy.

I agree with you. In California, where I live, people kept asking why Mormons from Utah were spending against marriage equality. I just kept thinking that all we have to do is recognize poly relationships and the Mormons will stop being dicks about same sex relationships.

Still happy about today's Supreme Court decision though.
