Random fact - in Berlin the Berliners are called Pfannkuchen while in the rest of Germany, Pfannkuchen are something like thick crepes.

A Berliner Pfannkuchen (Berliner for short).

In my hometown Nürnberg we call this Berliner "Krapfen" :-D and for carnival its a traditional joke to bring it to work and fill one of them with ketchup!

and i thought it was tradition to fill them with mustard for new years eve ;)
