well, there goes more of my tax money to israel
"The White House is expected to ask Congress for up to $90 billion to pay for a war with Iraq and other expenses within days of the start of combat, congressional and administration officials said. :( The bill would also include aid for Israel, :( a key U.S. ally in the region, and funds for anti-terrorism efforts at home, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity. Two officials said President Bush could send the measure to Capitol Hill as early as Friday."

okay, sending Israel our tax dollars is nothing new....they've been doing it for years obviously, but why are they including additional aid to israel using a bill meant for the war with Iraq? If they are doing it because they are assuming that Iraq will harm israel in retaliation, why don't they wait and see what happens first. Maybe Iraq doesnt attack Israel. And I wonder just how much of that 90 billion will go to Israel.
On Fox news, they were saying that the cost of this war will equate to $3000 per U.S. tax payer, assuming that the U.S. has to rebuild and occupy Iraq for 10 years. I don't know about you guys, but I am very excited to shell out this money. |
