PAXUM Card - Be aware!

Hi guys,

I thought I will quickly share my experience with the PAXUM MasterCard.

About 1 year ago, I noticed 7 fraudulent charges on our card. I immediately contacted PAXUM support and they gave me some Chargeback dispute forms to complete. Each CB claim would cost me about $40.

I send back those forms and after several months of wait, PAXUM support told me their bank rejected all my chargeback claims. This is definitive, there are no reasons given and there is no recourse.

Those were obvious fraudulent transactions, from different countries within a very short timeframe and a lot of failed preAuth. The bank screening seemed inexistent.

PAXUM said they wouldn't refund any money and that I should directly deal with their bank.

PAXUM ended up reimbursing $980 out of $2100 as a gesture after 1 year of conversation.

That may be an isolated case however I thought I would let you know about the risk of using a PAXUM card.

Wires, ACH Checks and PayPal have worked extremely well for us. With respect to CCBill, there's rarely been a time, beyond a holiday causing a delay, where there's not been a ccbill check in my mailbox every Monday or Tuesday for more than a decade. When it comes to checks, they are ridiculously reliable. I am in Canada and they're just never late beyond a very rare exception.

nico-t 06-04-2015 12:40 AM

checks are fucking worthless in developed countries, nobody uses those anymore for the last 50 years.

Well, PAXUM isn't a bad system and many affiliates like it. It is just disappointing that you aren't well protected when fraud occurs on your Paxum card. Something to be aware when choosing to use their service.

PornDiscounts-V 06-05-2015 05:48 AM

Use your card for one thing. To withdrawal money. That is it!

Don't use it at mom and pop stores. You are just asking for fraud. Don't use it at a gas station. You are just asking for fraud.

NEVER leave money on the card that you don't intend to withdrawal immediately. You are just asking for fraud!

If you have $10K in your account, go to an ATM and get it out in cash. Either leave it in their wallet or your wallet. But never leave $1K sitting on the card for days. You never know when a retailer you used it at is going to get hacked and somebody is going to try and use the card. It will be sold, resold and resold again. If you see suspicious activity order a new card immediately. Or... you are just asking for what happens to you.

that's great fucking news right there:thumbsup :1orglaugh

Milan_Quantox 06-05-2015 08:23 AM

I think Epass users lost money they had in wallet, while they were able to withdraw funds loaded on their card. But good advice overall :thumbsup

Seems bank is the most common excuse for paxum to not get your funds back when it is obvious it is their fault. Oh well, just try to keep small transactions on these type of transfers, and withdraw everything immediately (wallet and card) :winkwink:

I just never got a paxum physical card, so this couldn't happen to me. Also there's no yearly fees.

It is kind of unbelievable that US still use them :1orglaugh

ZeroHero 06-06-2015 08:31 AM

In some countries the checks that you receive need 15 to 20 days for the bank to confirm from the publisher and exange it, I think Paxum is the best for now, low fees, fast exange and no taxes for all cash you receive.

Checks here in Australia take 3-4 weeks to clear. It costs $15-$30

Then i actually have to go to the bank to cash them.

So im doing an hours work, paying $15 bucks and waiting a 4-8 weeks, including the delivery of the cheque.

Or i could just get paid instantly with a 2$ fee and spend the money anywhere, instantly.

Thats why people use paxum and payoneer.

Just don't leave much money in their and you will be fine, and if your getting big payments go wire transfer.

Every country has their own banking culture. At least money is safer in US banks compared to EU. You always run into the danger of having 25% of your funds shaved by any EU government should they require more funds in their tax pot.

No, works fine in Canada. Checks are credited in a few seconds to your account.

Why checks ? When you have multiple tenants, you want advance checks for the year :2 cents:

Here is a deposit app from CIBC : https://www.cibc.com/ca/how-to-bank/mobile.html
