Mr.Fiction 03-17-2003 05:04 PM

I'm sure that Republicans will call for a boycott of Rumsfield now.

we were also on good terms with stalin at one time.

Shit changes.

Explain why there are recent photos like that with chirac and saddaam.

Who cares about something 20 years ago.

It may be old news to me and you, but suprisingly, most Americans are still clueless

Yes, kinda old news, but amazing how few actually know what the US government has been doing in their name.

I reckon a few may be sick at the thought of the full story. Rumsfeld is just one "player" - there are many others close to Bush now who have contributed to the "success" of USA abroad... No wonder they did not like to sign the International Criminal Court treaty.

well, I care about 20 years ago, as should you.
Maybe it's time Americans cared about 20 years ago, so maybe we don't create the next Saddam 20 years from now

News flash for you. American foreign policy basically created Saddam. America foeign policy aided Osama Bin Laden as well. You want to continue that trend?

Can you post a recent photo of Saddam and Chirac. The one I saw was from the 70's, ten years older than the Rumsfield one.

Republicans cared a lot about a 20 year old failed land deal called whitewater, because they thought they could get clinton with it. But when it comes to supplying saddam with his weapons of mass destruction and supporting terrorism 20 years ago, they dont want to talk about it. Amazing how few can see through this.

News flash. France and Russia provided far more weapons to Iraq than the U.S. It doesn't absolve the U.S. from responsibility, but don't limit your blame to the U.S.

The West, period, was responsible for creating Saddam. At least some of us can acknowledge the mistake and do something about it.

In order to do that, we would have to cut our foreign affairs down big time. Which is fine with me.

I'm wondering though, how exactly do you predict what someone will be like in 20 years? It doesn't really matter here in the United States, our "leaders" can't maintain power for 20 years. But how do we know the new leader of Mexico, or Haiti, or Finland won't be a "tyrant" in 20 years? Is there some formula that we can use to predict this?
