Pay site owners, password sites question

How well do you convert when you get listed on a password site?

First off I can't believe how many extra uniques we received. Like 9,000 in 12 hours.

Now when I figured it all out it comes to like 1/1500. I don't think that is bad concerting these fucks were trying to get in for free.

But then again I get surprised easy.

Is this normal or did we just have good day?this time?

What do you do with that traffic?
Right now when they try to get in and can't they get redirected to the index page.

Is there code that can redirect a suspended user to any page I choose? Sorry I'm kind of thinking while I post here.

People who use password sites are cheapskates. Even if they pay to join, you can be sure they'll download everything as quick as possible and cancel before the trial runs out! :2 cents:

Basically, yes. You're catering to an audience that has expressed an interest in illegally accessing your content, without paying a cent. Even if they're horny enough to pay for your site (and it better be DAMN unique), they're not going to turn into profitable members.

i'm sure this is true, and for sites like ours that do not offer trials, i bet the chargeback ratio is pretty steep too..

I have been hit for the past 2 weekends... :feels-hot

Pumps up the bandwidth from about 10Mbps to 25Mbps... when I find them I just delete the user from the password list and redirect them to a page that tells them to fuck off.

I would agree with the chargeback thing that is why I don't even bother redirecting to the main page. I would rather not have the few sign ups that will bring.

Are there any adult programs that pay per impression? *hint hint*

Redirect them to a dialer. Tell them its a password hacking tool.

good idea

It's also possible that a lot of those hits you're receiving are actually a brute force hacking program...which means it could be just one or two guys screwing around.

Frankly, the people who use password trading sites are not worth the effort.

Simple. Get a prog like iprotect. It will automatically shut down the password and forwards the hits to e.g. toplists, traffic trades etc.

This security script (PHP), should prevent any connections to your pages from any programs. Also helps prevent flooding/DOS and other such things.

I'm sure that nothing is a perfect defence, but have a look at it, you may find it useful.

I was thinking of redirecting suspended traffic to a shit load of pop ups, what else would you do?
