Just now reported the US and UK will not ask for a vote on 18th resolution

...but will proceed without any further UN resolutions.

flashfreak 03-17-2003 08:22 AM

yeah.. basically they stated that they don't give a shit about UN... too bad..

B40 03-17-2003 08:24 AM

Not too surprising....but they should have asked a vote and then proceeded to bomb Iraq regardless of the outcome.

TDF 03-17-2003 08:24 AM

should have come to this conclusion long time ago..

Damian_Maxcash 03-17-2003 08:25 AM

Scott McD 03-17-2003 08:27 AM

If they had a vote on France, what do you think the outcome would be ??

:winkwink:

Would all those peace protest people take to the streets again, or say "Fuck France" ??

Bush is not scheduled to speak until 8 PM tonight. Powell is supposed to speak in either 45 minutes or an hour and 45 minutes.

Good god. Are some people like you are really that big of a moron?
You are aware that many innocent women and children are going to die?

theking 03-17-2003 08:48 AM

It is being reported that Iraqi's numbering in the tens of thousands are making an exodus from Baghdad and heading for the Kurdish Northern part of Iraq.

theking 03-17-2003 08:50 AM

It is being reported that some of the inspectors have already checked out of their hotels. I think the fear is that Bush will announce tonight that the attack has begun...and this may well turn out to be the case. Tony Blaire has called for an emergency meeting of Parliment.

Are you aware of how many women and children we are preventing from dying?
Just like dropping the bomb on Japan.

Also, If I saw a tank or other military equiptment outside my house, I would co camp somewhere else till they left.

Sadam is the chicken shit, he is the one killing the women and children by placing his military in a public place.

You forget the innocent women and children that died in 9-11
no it was not Sadam directly but he has ties, and supports terror.

You also forget Iraq is placing those Jammers to throw bombs off the targets, digging trenches to burn oil in to throw bomb off the targets again, that are placed very close to public places..

You know what.. He had 12 years.. He is playing the UN and the Media, and all the anti war people.

Maybe you would like to have us place the chem and bio weapons under your bed?

We try harder than any other nation to spare women and children.

Iraq can stop it..............

Good. The fucking U.N. is useless. 12 years Saddam has been dicking them around and they still sat around and jacked off. Laws are useless without the threat of FORCE. Not only will Saddam learn this lesson, but nations abroad will be placed in check. If the world was left solely to U.N. devices, there would be North Korean type regimes everywhere in a few years time. By then, stopping inevitable situation would be impossible.

That isn't the point at all. Bush has already made it clear that we are going forward with or without U.N. support. With that being a given why not go ahead and let them vote? At least then we would know who is really with us and against us now and appease the people that want the U.N. vote either way. We have to play this political game for many years to come and the slap in the face to the system is not going to help the U.S. in the future.

By the way, if the new polls can be taken at face value a majority of U.S. citizens would have still supported the war with a no vote from the U.N. on the new resolution.

Regardless of where you stand on this war this is one dance that should have gone on.

What do you mean it's not the point? The U.N., which was created by the U.S., is there to enforce international laws, is it not? France is obviously going to VETO anything regarding IRAQ so why sit there and waste MORE time?

Wizzo 03-17-2003 09:18 AM

War is a NECESSARY part of Human existence... The UN has only backed 3 military actions out the 100's that have happened since it's inception, so it's not that big of deal that they aren't on board...

DC1 03-17-2003 09:21 AM

First iraq, then france

The vote was Wednesday. 2 more days. We could be preparing just the same and let the vote go through on Wed. We are going to war either way so after playing this game for so long it's just rediculous to drop it 2 days before it's outcome.

Agree, and add the UN needs 2 be looked at very hard, what good is it? Just about the only thing, feeding hungry people. What else has it done in the last 15 years?

People were saying that 5 months ago after IRAQ submitted their bullshit 12,000 page weapons report. What part of the U.N. is not going and willing to act do you not understand?

KRL 03-17-2003 09:32 AM

The UN is a joke and they just proved it.

Gemini 03-17-2003 09:34 AM

If the vote is NO and the US-Uk etc proceed then they ARE in breach on International Law as well as the UN charter. As long as there is no vote then they CAN proceed under the laws dictating a right to self-defensive measures. :winkwink:

What part of I do understand do you not get?

I know WE ARE GOING TO WAR Regardless of what would have been said Wednesday. 2 days before the final no is rediculous.

On the reports here, we're hearing that Bush tonight will issue a demand that Saddam and his close allies must leave Iraq, but no hint of a timeline as yet.

The real agenda ....

The terrorists threat, the WMD were all smoke. In fact, we do not even hear anymore about the WMD , but now "weapons of terror"...

Hummmm, now aren't any weapons going to create a feeling of terror. Did you ever had a knife pulled on you??/ Beleive me, you feel terror....

jimmyf 03-17-2003 10:32 AM

Looks like theking might be right. :BangBang Within 96 hours.
