Remove the 10 lbs of makeup and we'll see what they really look like. Not that makeup is a bad thing, but they are most certainly wearing plenty of it.

Even Mila Kunis (who I think is gorgeous) is plain looking without makeup.

Pretty ordinary looking, but too much crude make up, and a little back light would not go amiss.

These portraits are not good... amateur looking, probably because of the amateur lighting. But the photographer gets nothing out of the models--no sense of the person. They're the kind of image you can get from a $100 headshot photographer from Craigslist.

I was kind of thinking the pics would be "soulful". You know, those rare pics where you catch the soul of a person in their eyes...like this iconic pic of Albert Einstein:

The pics Kisby did are okay...but not even in the same league as what I was thinking of when I read "honest images" in the title. The pics he took look like nice pics taken by a mall photographer. Not bad. Just nothing special.

Call times are usually 8am-9am and the girl comes fresh out of the shower to set.

Couldn't agree with you more. Bad concept with poor execution. Van Style's shoots a very cool "porn star on the street" style that is visually striking. These are just lame portraits with bad lighting. No point to them really. Also to all those commenting about the girls makeup and lack of it... you are idiots. :2 cents:

Yeah, I don't think an "honest" portrait has anything to do with whether a girl is wearing makeup or not.

The concept of looking for the true person captured in a moment of time by a photographer would require that photographer to spend many days (maybe even weeks) taking photos of a subject at all times of the day and night.

And then carefully looking at all those photos to find "the one" that really captures their essence.

Not an easy thing to do. Which is why there are only a handful of iconic photographers like that in history. The kind of guys who sell numbered prints of their photos.

Setting up a camera on a tripod and taking a bunch of head shots of porn stars real quick...that's not going to show them in that manner.

I guess the way this was presented as "an honest look" was an unfortunate description to say the least. But it has NOTHING to do with wearing makeup or not.

Those photos suck. If they want to lose a quick 2 pounds they can wash off their make up.
