Glastonbury recently announced that Kanye West will be a headline act. I’m not sure what reaction they were expecting, but I doubt they predicted tens of thousands of people to be signing a petition to ban him.

Kanye is set to join Lionel Richie and the Foo Fighters in headlining the epic festival, but some people aren’t happy at all.

One guy, Neal, was so outraged that he started an official petition.

Here is what the petition says:


Kanye West is an insult to music fans all over the world. We spend hundreds of pounds to attend glasto, and by doing so, expect a certain level of entertainment.

Kanye has been very outspoken on his views on music….he should listen to his own advice and pass his headline slot on to someone deserving!

Lets prevent this musical injustice now!

He isn’t selling his ticket due to his outrage, though. Neal is a Glastonbury virgin, and this year will be popping his cherry. Speaking to NME he said:

There is so much to see that I’ll have a great time regardless of whether Kanye headlines but I’m sure we could have got Fleetwood Mac for the same price.

Personally, I don’t really see the problem. I don’t like Kanye West at all, and if he was playing a gig in my garden I’d close the curtains, but there is PLENTY of other stuff to do and acts to see at Glastonbury.

It doesn’t really matter anyway, to be honest. Even if Kanye got dropped from the festival, he’d probably storm the stage anyway. He sure does like that spotlight.

I go to multiple festivals a year. There are always acts that I don't like. I skip them.

This festival virgin needs to remove the sand from his crotch.

kanye west is a racist tool, and people need to call him out for it.

Glastonbury has always had a certain type or vibe of music - and Kanye West's music is way off the mark of what you'd expect at Glastonbury.

He sucks donkey nuts, and that's a good reason to not put him on the Glastonbury stage. This emperor has no clothes and I can't believe he's thought of as a genius.
