$5.99 must be for .cc or something

It's legit, you can reg a .com for $5.99 there, but as I understand it, you can't use the name...it stays with their name servers, pointing to a page that makes them affiliate revenue. If/when you decide you do want to use it, you can pay them another ten bucks or something, or transfer it to another registrar for the annual renewal fee, and have full control over it. It doesn't make a lot of sense, other than as a marketing ploy so enom can spam people about $5.99 domain names.

I'd get you a cheap one from enom but I forgot the password to my enom reseller area :{

Here's some info I got from them:
Our pricing is as follows for com, net, org, info, biz, .name and us: $9.95 per domain name when you agree to credit your account for 20 domains (199.00) $8.95 per domain name when you agree to credit your account for 55 domains ($495.00) $7.95 when you credit your account with 500 domains ($3,975.00) $6.95 when your account is credited with 1,000 domains ($6,950.00). |
