The leg press always gives people a false sense of strength. Ever see some guy with 4 plates on each side grinding out some reps? I've seen the same people barely able to squat 225 at the rack.

It's bad for your lumbar also.

Leg presses are nothing more than an ego lift and terrible for your lower back! Most use the leg press as a replacement for squats which is a bad bad bad idea.

True, but Squatting is one of the worst exercises for your spine...lets put the maximum amount of weight as the weakest part of the body...where is the logic in that?
