Google closing porn/nudity on blogger
 

Just got this email from blogger-

Dear Blogger User,

We're writing to tell you about an upcoming change to the Blogger Content Policy that may affect your account.

In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity presented in artistic, educational, documentary or scientific contexts, or where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action on the content.

The new policy will take effect on 23 March 2015. After this policy comes into force, Google will restrict access to any blog identified as being in violation of our revised policy. No content will be deleted, but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the blog will be able to see the content that we've made private.

Our records indicate that your account may be affected by this policy change. Please refrain from creating new content that would violate this policy. We would also ask you to make any necessary changes to your existing blog to comply as soon as possible so that you won't experience any interruptions in service. You may also choose to create an archive of your content via Google Takeout (https://www.google.com/settings/takeout/custom/blogger).

bad for those who have income from blogger, good for more se traffic going to other sites and blogs. When they can't fap to free blogger porn, have to find somewhere else to spunk to.

I've got about 50 blogs there with girlfriend content, clothed.. bikinis etc.. no nudity, no cock or pussy, no banners with any nudity.. with links to my main blogs as well as links to sponsors.. that wont fall in their non nude policy i dont believe

Wow we've been struggling with that one for the last 100 years good luck to Google on deciding what's porn and what's artistic and educational.

sounds like they are adding a "safe search" feature. Everyone who turns it off will see your content.

I remember old porn mags of the 1970s that claimed to be 'artistic, educational, documentary or scientific'. I guess these are the next niches in porn.
I wonder when Tumblr will pull this brake.

Well for years they have been putting up a warning page when you hit an adult blog. It sounds like they are finally cleaning house of it all.

The thing about it before when I tried it was they seemed to be okay with adult stuff but once you started obviously monetizing it they started having a problem and you always risked suddenly losing your blog one day.

I knew eventually google would get around to doing this. As teencat said where does it stop? Will they eventually censor all adult sites from search?

I just curious to know what aims this strategy, there is perhaps a lot of pirated content on their blogspots.

They seem to think they can shape user behavior by stripping porn of any value it had.

Tumblr knows better, or at least should. If they were to shut down all of the porn from their sites there would loke about 80-85% of all of their traffic. :2 cents:

No suprise. The writing was on the wall that the free ride was over when they asked us to stop monetising adult blogs about a year ago or face a possible ban.

I think that probably has much to do with their decision as well as they can tell shareholders that they do not host pornographic images.

I've always told: host your stuff on your own server.

I think it was only a matter of time.

Well there goes about 1,000 blogs and a bunch of good high da pa back-links... oh well knew it was going to happen sooner or later so stopped that stuff about a year ago.

easyXsites.com is about to launch a big blog upgrade, perhaps the next step is to make an importer for Blogger sites - at least that way people don't loose their content :thumbsup

Why do with blogger when you can get a cheap hosting and install WP on it. You are on your own and no one to overrule you.

Perhaps this is the biggest problem with hosted blogs. They ban our account or close the service and we get messed up.

But they have to do it before the services are terminated and well in advance and then also cross check if the contents were imported correctly.

You know the import process never gets thru right. Something or the other will mess it up.

i hope they do. their algo has only made thieves the kings of the industry. porn needs a search engine that directs surfers to sites who actually produce it not steal it.

I love how Google does more and more to ban legit porn from its service but still makes stolen content #1 in it's searches.

if you work with google, or are even only using their search, it's impossible that this comes as a surprise.

That's the story everywhere. Porn is usually okay with all the social media sites. It's when 'someone might make money' that they suddenly have a problem with porn and then take the moral high road, "We are CLEANING up our sites ... blah blah blah"
