every president i ever voted for, let me down. you?

i am 40 & still waiting for a president that does not make me feel disappointed i voted for him.

1992 - clinton. promised midddle class tax cut, first thing he did was took that back. then he got a haircut on the LAX airport runway, & unleashed hillarycare on us. letdown.

1996 - dole, lost. letdown. what were the republicans thinking running that old fossil? stupid. in retrospect, he was the last powerful republican moderate. didnt know at the time how bush would move the party far right.

2000 - bush. was happy when he won over gore. was happy he was in charge when 911 happened. But once he said he didnt care where osama was, & by 2002 it was all iraq & from that moment on, letdown. Bush also made me see christian conservatives are a cancer on right wing politics. 2008 meltdown made me rethink the merit of republican bank deregulation. the subsequent rich-only recovery made me see there is no trickle down.

2004 - did not vote for a president, refused to support either candidate.

2008 - obama. was sold on the rhetoric of lobbyist reform. that did not happen, first letdown. But happy with his other policies which are mostly moderate republican. the fact the repubs fight their own agenda, like romneycare, makes me mad at my party. But today, obama is bloviating on the islamic nazis growing on his watch. he cant even call them what they are, trying to nuance what to call them. Watching him be a liberal tard on the issue of ISIS is making me insecure. letdown. but overall, still my favorite president in my lifetime. i understand now that nothing can change the culture of beltway lobby corruption if obama cant.

2012 - did not vote again. cannot support republican that opposes his own health plan, & thinks half the country are takers. could no longer support obama after letting wall street bankers off hook & not fighting for public option in his own plan. without public option obamacare is gold rush for needless insurance industry. i might be democrat now ever since both parties bending to the wealthy is perverting our economy. warren buffetts secretary pays higher tax rate than buffett? WTF???

for my next choice, i get hillary & what? no eisenhowers or teddy roosevelts in the bunch. the only teddy roosevelt is elizabeth warren, a democrat, who is not running. wonderful.

other than that, its great to be an american porn producer. :)

americans cannot elect the president of their country. your vote does not count if you are not a delegate

I don't think you will see those type of people with balls because it costs so fucking much to run for office. They all have to be careful or they dont get the money. Thats why if you separate what they say and what they actually do both sides arent much different.

czarina 02-20-2015 07:09 AM

and... do you really think your vote counts? What counts is the vote of the Electoral College, and they vote for whoever they want, they don't care how the people in their district voted.
I say, let them vote for whoever they want, you just concentrate on making money so you can fix in your personal world, what they won't fix in the entire country.

I quit voting some time ago. The truth is you are just picking the lesser of two evils.

I look at it this way.... Politicians will say what they need to say to get into office no matter what. It's the same as always - politicians kissing babies and shaking hands. I do believe all Presidents walk into the office with the best of intentions; They really do. But no matter who wins and takes control of the oval office, fifty percent of the population will hate him and curse or question nearly everything he (or potentially she) does. And they fight the President at every turn.

AdultB2B 02-21-2015 04:19 AM

I'm a little older than you and I felt that my votes for Bill Clinton were well used. Say what you will about him, but he would be re elected today if he could run and his wife will probably be our next President.

Ever since then it has totally sucked however. Bush I didn't vote for and he was a disaster.

I'm sorry to say I voted for Obama and he's been a major disappointment.

k0nr4d 02-21-2015 04:36 AM

I don't really vote here either, it's the same shit in PL. Same two parties, same bullshit, corrupt and stealing money...

Two things:

1. I have no expectations for ANY President. My belief is that the American political system has degenerated and devolved into a "Good Cop/Bad Cop" system, where everyone in Gov't essentially works for the major Corps and not "the American people" (as politicians love to say; well, corporations are filled with American people, aren't they?). So whether a Prez is a Dem or a Repub it doesn't much matter. They are all on the same Team. If the OP is 40 he is old enough to have learned this lesson and NOT be disappointed anymore because it simply does not matter who the President/CEO of America is.

2. You voted for DOLE? You deserve your disappointment. :D

In 2015...truth the world over.

Vendzilla 02-21-2015 12:21 PM

I voted for Dole because of his wife, She rocked.
I think with ll the shit bill got caught with, he still worked with the other side and the end result was a better US.
Bush was a disappointment, but not as bad as the asshole we have now.
I don't understand one thing about Liberals, they scream about Bush the war monger and then elect Obama who promised he was going to send more troops to Afghanistan? Makes no sense to me.

And shit like this

From 9 trillion to 18 trillion, Fuck you Obama

This guy has to go Bye Bye

Once a lowlife always a lowlife ...
Money wins in America.
Politicians are just an inconvenience most of the time.
