Poppy 03-15-2003 04:14 PM

Mine got stolen out of my Parent's place in SD, back in 94' so I can't post a pic, but it was a purple Rossingnol Dave Seone Pro Model.

My friends Dad sold a bike to Dave in Truckee back in 93' and part of the deal was this magic 165, which was great in deep powder back in 93' at Squaw. I used to sell tickets there and it was the best job.

xtype 03-15-2003 04:22 PM

My first snow board was the Burton Woody 135, I bought it in 1988, It had this little metal edges that you can adjust. This was before snowboarding was cool.

I had one of these, and then upgraded to a Sims Shredder 135. I still have it hanging out in the garage. Hopefully to teach my kid someday :)

burton really doesnt market that much, i know the owners of multiple snowboard shops here in washington and have riden a LOT of boards, and seen many break, or take serious hits from what should be minor things. never seen a burton break, they have bomb proof core's and bases as well. have always ridden them, never a problem one.

i've been riding for over 14 years. burton is the shit, and have done more for the sport than any other company. in terms of technology, and the riding envelope.

SilverTab 03-15-2003 09:59 PM

I had a burton before...I like my Sims better.... depends on what you are looking for...

Nasty D 03-15-2003 10:07 PM

Morrow...was a sweet board in early 90's:thumbsup

quiet 03-15-2003 10:22 PM

my current boards from left to right: 168 canyon (for freestyle, i have size 12 feet), my new 166 BMC (for big mountain riding/powder - my fucking passion), and my old 168 super model.

nice collection quiet:)

not to say that burton's done nothing, theres no way you last this long in the industry without proving yourself, but it's a bit of a stretch to consider them the only name to support. like any big company, there's a lot of overpriced junk that comes along with the top notch stuff every season

Muff 03-15-2003 11:23 PM

What size board should some get whos 5'11"?

imitation is the sincerest form of flattery (something i have direct experience with). burton didn't just evolve the sport (which they have), they *invented* it in it's current form. enough said :glugglug

quiet 03-15-2003 11:30 PM

my very first board was a sims 162.5 freestyle in late 1989. bought it used :)

It's the founder actually credited with starting the sport? I had the original Burton catalog. Man...that must be like 17 years old now. I should go digging and see if I can turn it up.
