Ever dran raw egg with your beer?

Re watching the wire, dock workers having a "breakfast" - they crack raw eggs in their beer glasses :pimp
Anybody tried that shit? :upsidedow

SilentKnight 01-07-2015 07:42 PM

In a word - no.

Never worked on the docks, neither.

Slappin Fish 01-07-2015 07:59 PM

I drink raw eggs in anything lime juice, smoothie, milk...but only the yolk most time.

Wouldn't bother me trying in beer but you have to mix it for taste and flat beer isn't great.

What about plants or breweries? :)

Found this reply somewhere:

Quote:

In Milwaukee, where there were nine or ten bars within a three-block radius of my house in Riverwest, the egg and beer breakfast was common for folks getting off the 12m-8a shift at the plants and breweries.
Looks like this stuff used to have some traction in blue collar world :)

Naw, but worked a few years in a lumber mill - but the tarbender at the strip club down the road never dropped us an egg in the beer.

I've done it a few times after coming back from a 25k+ run... It tastes fine. Korean people also do it with coffee I believe.

You cant absorb nutrients from a raw egg anyway. It needs to be pasteurized or cooked.

How do so many people justify drinking it raw? :)
Also popular among body builders.

I'd like to see the evidence that supports this, while im not saying you couldnt be right, i just haven't seen any concrete evidence myself that supports that theory (and the theory is that you obtain more nutrients out of a cooked egg, not that you do not get any)

I will still stick with drinking raw eggs as the reason i eat raw eggs is that i can eat 10 raw eggs without even a dent in my stomach as they haven't expanded, so its an easy way to obtain extra calories.

Apparently there was a study done.

Quote:

researchers have found that egg protein is more bioavailable when heated. (Thanks for the NPR link, Tuscoyote!) Here?s the study referenced in that interview. The study showed that egg protein is more digestible (94% versus 55-64%) when heated, probably due to alteration of the protein?s structure and the ability of digestive enzymes to infiltrate peptide bonds. Whether you eat your eggs heated or raw (or a little of both) in part depends on your goal in eating them to begin with.

Just buy pasturized egg whites, they have a better consistency and are more bioavailable than a raw + no risk for salmonella. I drink 30 egg whites a day...buying a carton of whole eggs and separating them is more expensive than buying them already done. I dont drink whey...i drink egg whites. Egg whites + Calorie free Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup = yohoo with 50grams of protein. I eat around 420G of protein a day so I know how to get it in ;)

Whole food source > supplementation. Plenty of evidence supporting lack of egg protein bioavailability via google. Avidin which is in raw egg yolks interferes with the update of Biotin as well.

I drink raw eggs from time to time. Never tried them with beer, but ate them with fried potatoes. Yeah, sounds a bit weird, but I like it :)

Slightly less bioavailability but the protein isn't denatured by heat or the cholesterol oxidized. Pros and cons.

Raw egg is just more convenient to me, you can add them to smoothies, extra protein and vitamins without feeling stuffed.

You don't believe in that 1g per 1lb theory?
Bodybuilding.com - How Much Protein Should You Consume?
I read that your body can not digest much more than that so part of those 420g goes wasted.
Of course you know better since you are a pro, just curious.

If your body has the demand you will absorb it. 420G is just how just how my diet macros works out. I eat high protein and moderate carbs, low fats, 4200 cals a day. I know if I deviate from that caloric intake I will begin to lose weight.

I eat 4-6 snickers a day, drink a few chocolate milkshakes from steak and shake and about a dozen beers every night. I never ever worry about losing weight.

Moron, I am not joking about death, but about the crowd who comes and claims "poor innocent child killed by racist popo" while that was thug and justified shooting by police and 0% to do with race.

I am laughing at morons like those "protestors" and morons like you. Not at death and not even at the dindu himself.

You are too dumb to comprehend even the simplest things such as this.
