Paypal question

I use paypal to sell gallery templates on TGP Templates . I dont know if their new rules will force me to remove paypal from my site. I am selling design to adult webmasters, I dont think they should have any problem with that, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I didnt receive the famous e-mail, so does that mean I'm not on their blacklist or what?

Why not phone support or email them and ask. It is better to be told now that you aren't allowed to then them freezing your account in the future for violating their rules.

You might as well consult a spirtual advisor as call PayPal. Unfortunately, the people answering the phones don't know anything.

I had to call 12 times a few months ago - the first 11 denied the $1500 mastercard charge even existed, and #12 acknowledged it but could not provide any real info.

I sell hardcore videos with Paypal and have not received the email. That doesn't mean tough that I can continue using them.

An acceptable use policy basically outlines what they want to see, if you think maybe even for an instant that some anal retentative idiot at Paypal is going to think what you do is in violation of their AUP and they find out through whatever means... Expect your account to be frozen.

We probably wouldn't be in this situtation if all these yahoos hadn't started doing adult membership websites by simply signing up with paypal and going.....

Very negative answers.... but tks anyway.

Tuga,

Same as you, I am selling adult web templates with Paypal too and I didn't receive that famous email that everybody receives.
I am not sure if it will effect our businesses but I think paypal is still revieweing the member sites and sending emails to those who are using the services for marketing adult products. We still have 2 months to be informed as I think their starting date is May 12.
I am waiting to receive that famous email any time in these days.

I think we'd better try finding an alternative to paypal.

tuga,

email paypal they will tell you if its ok.
that is the only way to be sure
i think if you are providing a service to webmasters its ok

but you need to check with them just to be safe

Tuga,
Sorry this has nothing to do with the thread. Can you contact me on ICQ 45147309 please. I want to ask you something about your templates.

Thank you
Ben

Just a wild guess since I do not know what PayPal think BUT..
Your site contains adult images among other things.
I am quite sure they will categorize your site as adult.
I have the same concern with ************.com which doesn't even have adult content but gives services to adult webmasters and even there I am not sure I'm on a safe ground.
I think the "spirit" of their new regulations includes almost anything that makes money in the adult industry including yours and many of our sites.

I called... and was told design works are okay ..
despite the fact that is is adult design .. we are selling the design as opposed to " adult material " .. the design just happens to include adult material .

thats what they said .. don't quote me .. don't take my word for it .. ordered my visa machine today .

CosmicKitten 03-14-2003 10:05 AM

They will continue to process adult stuff but only sales made through the ebay mature audiences section.

I think what is happening is they don't want to deal in the adult stuff at all (high risk), unless it goes through ebay which requires a bunch of verification for the adult section. And more fuckin fees.

That's what I heard, just wanted to confirm it.

Us, designers, are good to go!
