wasn't that guy in heat?

My college roommate and best friend produced that song.

Quick story about it...

My roommate was a DJ at the Clairemont Colleges radio station doing the only hip hop show at the time on the west coast. Some new no name record label guys came by to ask if he would produce some songs for the artist they just signed, surprised to find out "Ezy Mic" and "The Dust Brothers" were actually white dudes.

The song made obviously huge cash but the label was not paying Loc (or the Dust Brothers for that matter) royalties. Tone Loc was not one of those pretend gangstas - he was the real deal. He wasn't stupid either. He knew he should be rolling in bank.

One day he walked into Delicious Vinyl with a shotgun.

Needless to say he walked out with a check in one hand and a cold shot gun in the other.

Delicious Vinyl signed college boy Young MC next...

Tone kills it!

so does peaches!

Commemorating Delicious Vinyl's 20th Anniversary, DV Announces Release
of Tone-Loc + Peaches "Wild Thing" 20th Anniversary Version!

Some marriages are made in heaven. Some get consummated in a booty club. And
every once in a very great while... if you're lucky enough... you get both.

Exactly twenty years after the release of Tone-Loc's scandalous rap classic "Wild Thing" - then the fastest selling single in record industry history - Delicious Vinyl is proud to announce the release of a special duet version of "Wild Thing" featuring none other pioneering electro goddess Peaches. The question on everyone's mind of course, is who's gonna be wearing the pants in this partnership? Tone? Peaches? To which we can only say: What pants?

this is killer killer killer

ps, my delicious vinyl t-shirt is a valued possession !!1

I was in like 4th or 5th grade when that song hit the airwaves and began its popularity. Those days were fun. Yellow Walkman with Tone Loc or 2 Live Crew.

Is it rap? I mean he speaks instead of singing, but still not sure.

You can tell by how he talks in the movie heat. Your story sounds legit to me.
