I've seen some guys on tv (ripleys or guinesses) that was really strange looking, the guys blades would stick out 12 inches.

It's a medical condition called a winged scapula. I had surgery on my neck and the Doctor messed up and nicked one of my nerves and I had that and a partially paralyzed arm on one side for a few months.... Thank God it went away, but it sure as hell wasn't fun--or attractive for that matter.
