I almost got fucked over at Ebay

I won an auction for an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro video card, which I paid for and the guy sent me an All In Wonder Radeon 9700 Pro by accident, which I didn't complain, ha ha ha.

Anyways, I almost forgot to leave the guy some feedback, it's been a couple of weeks, but when I went to leave it, I saw this -

After seeing that, I'm DAMN lucky that I got my card. He's been selling them in a few dutch auctions, 10 in a batch, so you figure that he fucked those other people out of over $10,000. I'm sure that he's not gonna get away with something that big though.

Nice video card.

You were lucky, always check feedback on ebay. Even then, I was trying to purchase something not too long ago, and a day before the auction was over, the seller 'pulled' the item.

Pretty annoying, plus there is no way to complain or leave feedback about that. Seems pretty pointless to find a good deal on ebay if anyone can do that. Almost win an auction, only to have the seller think, "ahh, i could get more money if i post it later" and pull it. Bleh.

I've heard lots of stories like that. I'm very carefull right now, i never want anything like that to happen to me, i would go crazy.

They have %'s posted now next to the seller's name.

Well, the scary thing about seller is that he had a perfect rating when I bought my card, then a couple of weeks later, he decided to screw everyone.

Nah, when I see good price for somethig and the seller is near my area, I email him if he allows local pickups, and Im ready to pay THIS much (usually a little higher than the current bid) right now, and a few ties I was able to get the item like 3 or 4 days before it ended

This past week there was a big theft ring busted here in winnipeg, in which about 14 people in total were arrested. Apparently they had a network set up where certain stores like toys r us and Future shop were hit, brand new goods stolen and then.... put up for sale on the net.

At first glance of this thread I though this guy might have been part of that, but this loca group were dealing in lots of different stuff. People like this guy need to be caught and publicly flogged.

Well if you paid for a Radeon 9700 and got an All-in-Wonder, you'Re pretty lucky as it has a higher value

Some people do that to build up a really good feedback rating before fucking everyone else over.

He might have even given you the better card on purpose hoping that you'd leave him really good feedback.

Oh yeah, I sure was lucky to get the higher version. I only paid $282 with shipping for a retail boxed ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, so I got one hell of a deal.

When the package was delivered to me, it felt pretty heavy since it should've had just the card and a couple of cds in it, but instead, it was the beautiful All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro :) Heck, there's a remote, a shitload of cables, Morrowind, it kicks ass.

B40, yeah, that's true, they do build up, but usually they have little shit dinkin' auctions worth a buck or two that they use to build, this guy was smart, he was selling the video cards in 10 card dutch auctions to build trust. I know that when I bought mine, I felt pretty safe about buying it.

Yup they usually buy those ebooks and shit...some ppl will have their accounts cancelled if they keep doing that
