Congrats Europe!

Utterly fucking amazing... Just landed a probe on a comet - a first for mankind!

The things we'll see in the next two decades will be stunning.

Hitching a ride on a comet toward interstellar exploration is an interesting concept.

aka123 11-12-2014 11:55 AM

Yes, good me, as I am European, or something. :)

Well, congrats to the guys those actually made it happen.

DonJon69 11-12-2014 11:57 AM

Too bad we have to wait so long for these things to happen. This one took ten years....

As the comet was that far out, but there are comets closer too. As one fear is that comet will hit Earth. With more rapid implementation we could explore nearer comets too.

Really?

Eight years ago they sent a probe to a small comet hurtling through space and landed on it. How it that not amazing?

Famemonster 11-12-2014 12:27 PM

that is very cool, a space ship on a comet. Good job Europe!

When I was a kid we landed men on the moon. It was exciting times. We expected flying cars, moving sidewalks, dinner in pill form, living under bubble domes and miraculous healing.
We got pet rocks.

:winkwink:

Amazing feat accomplished though and I hope we learn a lot from something up there.
