Gigantic Turkey Legs
I cannot find a whole turkey on this island to cook for Thanksgiving.
What I can find are turkey breasts and these gigantic Turkey legs like you get at the fair. I can make the turkey breast just fine...though still not the same as carving a real turkey on Thanksgiving. Have you cooked these legs? Should I deep fry? |
You know my answer!

I roast them in the oven with garlic, salt, pepper and this McCormick Chicken Seasoning I found and baste them every 20-30 minutes with some real butter, not margarine - and they come out so full of flavor and juicy.

Bake them in the oven, then finish them on the barbecue.

If you are baking the Turkey breast I really recommend brining it, it will make all the difference in the world. When I do Turkey breasts I usually brine for 2-3 days then throw it on the grill on indirect heat. Once pulled from the brine, rub with Italian seasoning, salt and minced garlic. Now I'm hungry.... |
