Why did they need 60%? Isn't simple majority enough?

Dirty D 11-05-2014 04:56 AM

In Florida it was a constitution amendment so it needed 60% which is very hard to achieve.

Lots of money was spent to oppose the amendment. :(

beenthereb4 11-05-2014 05:04 AM

Well we all know it was not a mis-count ...nope not in florida . :1orglaugh

Wow, how retarded... So any statewide law needs 60% in order to be passed? How about presidential elections, does the winning candidate need 60% as well, or is simple majority enough?

Constitutional amendments on a federal level need more then just a majority too

That's not at federal level though, only at state level. But Dirty D already explained that part. Just curious about elections, if the same thing applies there.

One of the biggest, being an owner of a few large amusement parks and resorts right in the middle of Orlando.

Didn't realize you were actually seriously asking if they needed 60% vs simple majority to be elected

bronco67 11-05-2014 06:53 AM

It's slowly coming...we'll get there. A couple more election cycles and it'll be the United States of Ganja.

The old foggies will be dead soon. Give it about 10 years, and Florida will be the last state to adopt since that is where all the old Republican codgers go to die and vote till their last breath.

It isn't hard to find weed in the USA. You can trip and fall over it at Walmart. Cops in California don't even bother to ask people for cards any more. It's pretty much legal, and not enforced unless you are getting busted for something else.

Why would I need to move it?
I plan to just sit in one place, eat pizza and smoke for days on end :pimp

If you think back like the last how many years, this weed has been illegal for absolutely NO REASON whatsoever. And other countries followed the US... its been like the olden days alcohol prohibition.

Perhaps there were hanging chads that made a large number of ballots unclear.

Some still vote after their last breath or at least the election officials might have you believe they do.

We barely missed getting it passed here in Florida, I was so upset that I hit the bong all night.
