looking for direction

Hi GFY,

I have been a member for a while, lurked a little, but it seems most sites are affiliates. I do SEO and I have been approached asking to help out getting a webcam site started. I am in Arizona and the people that approached me have 4 models ready to go. They no nothing about marketing, but are good at spitting game.

I use to do affiliate marketing for dating sites but nothing so close to home. They are willing to spend money on hosting etc... My concerns are with the legality of it all. Do any of you experts have any sources that I can research to better inform them of what they need to do next. I am not looking for a step by step, unless you are open to provide, but more for what to search for in order to give them the proper expectations.

I have experience with marketing such sites, but not so much creating and maintaining one. Please forgive the noob feel of this question. I have used the search exhaustively, but because I don't know what exactly to search for, I am coming up empty.

Any advice on direction would be appreciated.

welcome to the zoo.

I am not an expert but 4 models is not enough to start a site imho.

However they could sign up to a cam site (or 3) as a studio while they recruit more talent.

Others will have more informed answers then I will I am sure.

thanks for your reply, ya they are pretty ambitious and I think they will be best suited to use an aggregator in conjunction with their models as they recruit more

As a webmaster and webcam model I can see one big problem that the business plan has....a lack of traffic. There is a vicious circle with webcam sites - models only want to work where there are punters and guys want to use a site with a good choice of girls.

If there is no traffic the girls either won't login and use the site or will do so once, will earn little or no money and they won't bother again.

Esp if the payout to the model is set at a min of $150 for example. The trouble is you are competing with the big boys - what does your site have to offer that theirs doesn't??

Opening a studio account could work but lots of models, like myself, are switched on and will only sign up to the main sites ourselves and not via a studio who will take a % and probably try to stipulate working hours.

Have a look at stripper web - you will get a good insight into the industry from a models pov and what will/won't work for you

Wouldn't it be better to just have those girls sign up to a webcam site under your affiliate code and then you get a percentage of what ever they make?
Don't know if it works like that, never had a model sign up under me before. May be something to look in to.
