Banner ads not good for promoting free picture sites?
 

I've been talking to several people, and I was told that paid banners are not a very good idea for promoting free picture sites. I was told that the model is, in general:

Banner Ad - url to a site, where people pay for something / spend money

This is not exactly what I've been seeing on the Internet, as websites like Reporo or easyXsites placed their advertisements on other adult related websites too. The same goes for this site too...

I was told that skimmed traffic and popunder traffic (not as good as the first one) is the best.

Paying for a banner (non feeder traffic) to direct traffic to a free site maybe seen as a bad idea by anyone looking at it from an eCPM/ROI point of view.

Feeder traffic cost less (and is worth less).. Making back your $ (or just writing it off as a cost of doing biz) from feeder traffic is thought to be easier as the amount is smaller.

Mainstream sites do buy banners for free sites but the return for them is not exactly the same as it is in adult.

I'm going to throw this out there for you to think about. You don't have to do what others are doing. Carry on.
