The report the cost of flying in Airforce 1 as 180K an hour? I think thats a bit on the low side actually.

I think Delta posted one time in an interview that it costs more than 80K just to start the engines of an airplane that big. And that the run time was more than 4 times that.

I can only imagine the real cost of this one.

yep all the white presidents took greyhound and stayed at motel 6.

But logic tells you that is false right?

So what? He's the President, you can't just drop him off at the curb at Dulles Airport then have a Hilton shuttle bus pick him up when he arrives.

I'm curious, how on earth does a four hour flight with 200 people bring in $320,000?

No.. It costs about $200,000 to fly one on a normal route. And $80,000 of it is to takeoff and reach cruising altitude. Not start the engines.

In the article Delta was stating that nobody wants four engines anymore because no plane ever had more than 200 to 300 people on it anymore. So the math doesn't work on spreading the fuel cost and paying the flight crew.

Here is the funnies part of the first article. They say that so far Obama has been out of the country 31 times for a total of 119 days. Then they compare him to the last two presidents at the same point in their presidencies. Bush had been out of the country 28 times for 116 days and Clinton 27 times for 113 days.

So basically Obama has been out of the country a couple more days than his predecessors and yet somehow I don't remember the outrage back then.
