Anyone here drive a Jeep?
Just bought a new Jeep a few weeks ago and it's already funner than anything else I've ever driven. I have 18k in the suspension alone.. 6" lift on 35"'s. It's the most impractical thing you can imagine on the road.. it's noisy, handles poorly, maybe gets 12-14 MPG.. but on the trail it's amazing.

I thought only bull dike lesbians drove jeeps
:uhoh |
Great looking jeep ya got there. What are you running on there as far as mods go?

I've hit a tree stump in the middle of the night going pretty quickly and it totally fucked up my axels + bent a ton of other shit. Thats the good thing about jeeps, cheap to repair.
I usually ride with the doors off, just cant find any pics http://naomicannibal.com/jeep1.jpg http://naomicannibal.com/jeep2.jpg |
Had a 4 door jeep a few years back was great in snow storms etc.
Not one issue with it other than I didn't need it when I moved into the city. |

I have a 2012 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. While not the same, it's full time four wheel drive. It can handle anything I throw at it - It's perfect for long distance family trips or driving on the lake or in places where there are no roads.

I used to have one here in Miami, but where you are looks like a lot better place to enjoy it.

But this is a great example of "go anywhere". We were dropping off our kid at the lake for a birthday party. They said "take the road down to the lake and when you reach the lake, turn left off the pavement and keep going a few miles until you see us". It was a dirt road until we reached the end... It wasn't something a regular SUV could have done. I bought the Jeep because I wanted to "do stuff" instead of sitting at home all weekend long watching TV. Since then I've learned you must always carry water, towels, and a blanket. |
I just paid off my 2005 Jeep Liberty that I purchased in late 2008. I love it in white to help combat the Florida sun. Still has low miles (40,000) as I only put about 5,000 miles per year on a vehicle. It's great as a daily driver and perfect for loading up lots of video & photography gear plus props and stuff with the back seat down.
I don't take it out on trails or anything but it's versatile from everything from carrying groceries, picking up models and luggage at the airport, carrying a mountain bike to the park or anything else. I also like the rear wheel drive, a relative rarity in modern SUVs. After many years of owning muscle cars like Firebirds and Trans Ams, front wheel drive vehicles feel like golf carts to me. |
My first jeep was a 1947 willy's CJ2a
The last one I had was a 87 cherokee, good vehicle! |

I drive a Jeep Cherokee. I love it. I have been into all kinds of backcountry from desert to forest to swamps. I hunt and fish and it gets me to the places nobody else will go.
When I see people driving lowered cars as their only form of transportation I pray for them if the shit ever hits the fan. |

I have a 2013. Can't say I'm all that happy with it. Started having death wobble issues at less than 20K and found out the stock ball joints were all shot. I have some greasable ones in there now so hopefully they last. I just don't like having to pay to repair a 2013 vehicle, although I guess that is my fault for modding something still under warranty. Chrysler won't pay for any suspension work now even if it is something that is obviously their issue. (Their stock ball joints are notoriously bad a have a plastic bushing instead of being greasable, basically designed to fail)
It's OK when its working I guess. I'm also going to have to get my aftermarket rock sliders linexed because their powder coat was no match for our Canadian winter last year. Fucking rust. I don't feel like spraying them with tremclad once a month. http://jeffbabcock.com/jeep/wp-conte...013/jeepa7.jpg http://jeffbabcock.com/jeep/wp-conte...013/jeepa5.jpg http://jeffbabcock.com/jeep/wp-conte...013/jeepa6.jpg |
Look beautiful. Too bad it's not that great on the road.

A couple of friends have Rubicons, they love them, especially for Canadian winters, those things eat up the snow like nothing else. They look great in summer too with roof and doors off, pretty fun cars I have to admit.

I had a J20 3/4 ton Jeep truck years ago when I was a contractor
http://3mp1r3.cam500.com/img/boards/zeke1.jpg c. 1994 It had a 350 AMC motor and a Chrysler auto trans but it spun a main engine bearing pulling a trailer -- I bought a dually to replace it. Was a great truck on jobsites in the mud and snow. It would get right up to the scaffolding to unload ... |
Ive had a few but my grand at the moment is a right bastard

where's Inabon - he's the expert... ;)

Had a 1997 Wrangler and a 1980 CJ-7. Good times!

Would love another jeep. We had a Suzuki Vitara JLX with fatboy wheels & big stainless side skirts! Loved taking her on the beaches over Wales. Lots of fun! :thumbsup |
