I am going to Hua Hin until Sunday. Facebook or email me and we can gfet together. I was hoping to get a little gathering together. Maybe a rooftop party.

Just left Koh Phi Phi and moving to Koh Lanta, Koh Chang and in the mean time i will be some days in BKK in a short stop over.

There will be a webmaster meeting in Pattaya in 3 weeks.

Hua Hin is much nicer, unless you enjoy dirty beaches, tourists and russian gangsters.

Fo beaches close to BKK Hua Hin wins! Its a mellow beach community. You have the fun of Pattaya and the beach without the 95 year old germans with 15 year old girls. I cringe every time I see that.

Hua Hin is where the KING has his 2nd home so shenangans are not allowed there.

I plan to move to Thailand or the Philippines when I retire in a few years, then I'll be the 95 year old chasing the teens.

Krabi Ao Nang main beach we didn't like. The other beach there looked better but we had a lot of rain. I would never choose Krabi for a holiday, all the people that try to get you in their restaurants is so irritating.

Phi Phi island was very nice, go to Long Beach and make trips to other islands.
The rest is more a tourist trap with overpiced hotels (still cheap for tourist) and 1 day visitors. But it is nice for some days.
Maybe i must visit Hua Hin, could be nice also, good tip.

I like the more quiet beaches without the tourist that have holiday for just 2 weeks.
Koh Lanta has some nice beaches, but cause it is low season and not many backpackers it is too quiet at this moment. The prices are 1/2 compared to high season, that is a good thing.

Pattaya is a shithole you must avoid! It is a dirty, sleezey, place. A lot of Russians think they go on a nice cheap beach vacation and end up in the city of prostitutes with their families. Maybe their English is bad and they didn't look up how Pattaya realy is. Also a lot of Arabs that go there to the clubs for blond Russian prostitutes. I go there cause my webmaster friends live around Pattaya and than it is nice to meet there before i go to the beautiful Island of Koh Chang or move further to Sihanoukville. But seeing Pattaya can be fun, go to Insomnia for a beer, see the crazy people in some bad bars. You will see some things you will never forget. I don't know why people stay there longer, everywhere in Thailand are girly bars where you can find the same, without the extreme dirtyness of Pattaya. Can you imagine a bar with 250 girls screaming Hello, you come in? Than you must go there in low season. After 2 nights there i want to go far away and get the dirt of me. Last times we met in a normal pub, much nicer bacause you can have a talk without the screaming woman around you. When it is old and have a beer belly, can't hardly walk normal beacuse of their condition, you know they are screwed, avoid those people!

Looks like the old man always has the most beautiful girls, they have to pay more than everyone else, but they don't care because their life will end soon I can't imagine you want to walk around with a Thai prostitute, fun to play at the pooltable and than they become annoying to me. I prefer the backpacker islands and have a good talk with Western people or the Thai peole that aren't working in a tourist place and just want your money.

You will love Hua Hin, basically a family city with alot of expats from all countries. The beaches are deserted, they have horseback riding and jetskiing but nobody bugs you. There is a tourist area but if you rent a condo you will never see it. We stay at a SICK 4 bedroom condo with pool in friont and oceanfront pool as well. I wil`l post a few shots:

Perfect weather - 90 degrees - well perefect at the pool or mall. ;-)

I recommend the roundhouse in koh lanta if you haven't got your accom sorted.

But that is the best area to stay, altough one beach up looks there are more things to do cause it is realy quiet here now.
Heading to Koh Chang now. I like it there, spent there already 6 months the last 2 years.

This is an underground meeting for people that just are in Thailand at this moment.
I know 5 people living there + some non-adult webmasters that live there also.
And when i am around we have some beers and fun.
I stay in Thailand/ Cambodia till i have to return for the Dutch Wemaster Meeting.

Hua Hin was boring for me (it is good when you are +40 with your family, otherwise is boring as hell, more like Malaysia than Thailand), I liked Krabi a lot (for me it was peaceful), beaches near Krabi are also nice, I liked also Ko Phangan and Prachap Khiri Khan..and Chumphon and surroundings were also nice for me.
as for the islands: Ko Phangan was great, Ko Samui OK and Ko Tao totally sucked,
overcrowded, too many people for such small island.

I was there 5 years ago, I never felt any hassle, maybe because I had my own motorbike there, so even if someone was pushy or guesthouse too expensive - I could easily drive away searching for something better ;-)
