ALL HAIL The Empire of the United States!
Have we learned nothing from history and the Roman Empire? Are we doomed to repeat history because of our sheer ignorance and greed?
The Roman Empire became over extended, reached out too far, dominated too many lands while deteriorating from within before collapsing. Sound familiar? The bigger our Empire grows, the easier it will be to defeat us. Not just militarily, but financially. The past is the past, but people will never learn from it nor change. ALL HAIL THE EMPIRE OF THE UNITED STATES! It's here, right now, but nobody has declared it or is speaking about it. We are just slowly growing and evolving into it, until about 480 years from now, when the new President of the United States will be declared Emperor of the United States of the World. You think that's absurd and sounds like science fiction? Well, take a good look at the maps below, this isn't sci fi, this is reality. Make no mistake. It is happening. http://rixstep.com/2/1/20120209,00,00 http://blog.hiddenharmonies.org/wp-c...8/CG-map-3.gif |
oh man, we are all damned, suicide is the only way out ... you start?

Dumb liberals considering Rule and Prosperity a sin.
What's the conclusion to your post, give land away, open borders, retreat from all opposing nations and let another Country takeover? Hand over our lands to Russia? wtf is your point or at least what is your solution to this 'problem' Nothing wrong with an Empire if an Empire is ran right and has good intentions. When we think of an Alien coming to this planet, what's the first thing we'd always assume they say... "Take me to your Leader" ...not "Take Me To Your Leaders" because the fact is evolution of Humankind is strength in numbers and harmony and sync between all nations. An Alien race would look at this planet as a joke on the evolutionary scale with all of this division. |

Having an airbase somewhere doesn't make it part of an Empire.

It will be awhile before that happens, bruh.
The Romans collapsed when their armies became thoroughly BARBARIANIZED. The US, on the other hand, needs IMMIGRANTS with their drive, ambition, focus, and HUNGER after the American Dream. Look at the typical tech startup and you're bound to find a few immigrant or second generation people in the guts of such startup. The US has never been around GENETIC LINES or even CULTURE. It's always been about an IDEA. The idea is that SOMEWHERE in this planet, a country has to be built where people can come to REINVENT THEMSELVES and get a SECOND or THIRD CHANCE. A land that doesn't care who your parents were. A country that values people only based on the RESULTS they are able to bring to the table. This may seem like a cruel joke description for the US based on the reality of its sad history with Slavery, sexism, heterosexism, antisemitism, and other nasty 'ism you can throw its way but it is precisely WHY it is such a powerful BEACON of hope and dreams. Immigrants FUEL its rise because they are FOOLISH enough to believe its promises and MAKE IT A REALITY. Just as Jews in the 1900s and beyond gave life to the promises of fundamental rights extension to the states and how atheists and Christian scientists expanded the separation of church and state, the American experiment survives precisely because NEW PEOPLE hold it accountable to its promises and thereby make those promises a REALITY. That's what America means to me at least. My parents came to the US in 1972 to flee the Philippines' Marcos dictatorship. They had nothing. Even though they had to work 3 jobs each, they were able to send me and my younger brother to school. I got a degree at UC Berkeley. My brother is a registered nurse. The American dream still works. It doesn't matter whether you come from the inner city, Appalachia or the other side of the planet. America is still a concept that is very much alive! YOU just have to make it work. You have to BELIEVE in it to make it work. Doesn't work for everybody but with the right amount of FAITH and yes, willfull blindness, it still delivers. As long as it still delivers, the American Empire won't go the way of the Roman Empire. /sorry for the overshare :) |

There's a black family that's been living in the White House for the past 6 years - within the lifetime of lots of people who post on this forum that was literally unthinkable - but it happened. Anti-semitism, the world's largest Jewish population resides in the United States and thrives, powerful in politics, finance, media, science. Sexism and heterosexism, it's been a struggle but women and homosexuals have every opportunity to thrive and most do. The ideals America was founded on still exist, if the rest of the world had the same the world would be better for it. |

Having a base there and sending soldiers there for training, work etc is actually good for the US and some times good for those countries. The soldiers get time off and they spend money. Not always good but at least symbiotic. The Roman empire, once they entered the country you were under their rule, Law and taxes. |

The difference between Americans and other cultures is that (for the most part) we don't care what god you worship, where you came from, or what you do in the bedroom. I don't walk into a store and say "The store owner is an Asian / Muslim / Queer so I cannot shop here". I am happy to be a part of that. |

That's some weird maths! |

The problem is all that you said above is not really truth. I mean it supported to be, but it's not. You have to admit that it's not really cool to be a Muslim in the States (just because), and there is lot of very serious racial problems (you must be blind if you can't see it). You may not be interested to know where somebody came from and what he/she does in the bedroom but your government definitely interesting to know that, and all-known Patriot Act made it much worse. |

This map seems a little off and assumptive.
As there is no US Bases in Canada... Some Canadian bases do have military personnel from the US as well as Australia, UK, etc... on them in a personnel exchange. The US ships can pull into a Canadian port, doing exercises, etc.. |
OK so you're saying if a person in the USA was paying as MUCH as the tax code even allows for on paper, it would still leave him #7 in the world?
If anyone could find a single human in the USA who actually pays 55.9%.. take a picture of it. |

That's max rate, and that is only in one state and you have to earn like 1M+ per year... there are also various exemptions, credits and loop holes too... then there is sales tax, payroll tax and other taxes as well... so it's impossible to draw any conclusions from that table... more accurate analysis might be here: http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/brief...national_1.gif source: http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/brief...ernational.cfm |

If you'd knew history that well, you would know that US is now where the Roman Empire was in 200 AD. So, in other words = not that much left to stay as Empire... In 100 years you all will be speaking Chinese (if not Spanish) |

GDP is nothing more than total income, and so: total taxes / total income = avg tax rate.... |

Man's evolution is in constant motion. There will never be one governing body that rules the entire planet for an eternity. All Empires are doomed to fail. You don't read history books so I can't condemn your opinion. It is not our place to run the entire planet. We can't even run our nation. The USA, right now, is deteriorating from within. 1 out of every 5 people go to bed hungry in this great nation. 1 out of 5. And I'm not even talking about the growing poverty levels. You really think our nation can sustain ruling the world forever? Please. Read a book. China is next in line after they absorb us. Not kill us in a war, absorb us. Absorb all our business and businesses until we are 100% dependent on them, then China's empire will rise as our crumbles. It's simple evolution. |

if russia were to attack all those nations, yes it be war. if russia were able to lease/arrange for bases to be built, or as in canada, joint training/exercises etc, no war. |

I have to say that we had a good run...dominating most of the past century with great advances in technology which we exploited to their fullest but the downward trend has been going on for quite awhile now and is clear if you just look. I have to say that I think that we lived during the best period in American history..well if you are my age that is...never a better time to be a white American male. Good times... China is certainly the next super power both economically and militarily and unfortunately for the USA you are right...it's just going to fade into history instead of going out with any sort of dignity...of course, it's not going quietly and is kicking a screaming all the while but it's too late. The plans have been made and put into motion a long time ago. Like I said...America had a good run...too good actually...and the ride down isn't going to be as fun as the ride up! |

Travel a bit. The USA compares pretty favorably to most of the world. |

Yes, there are still racial problems in the US. To an extent there will always be. At the same time, I am pretty confident the vast majority of Americans don't pick and choose what businesses they visit based on the race or religion of the owner. It's not because Americans are better; It's because all of us a mutts and the vast majority of us are too lazy to care. |

maybe you should read a book. that country will always be a century behind the innovators. :2 cents: |

I've been hearing this for years... The country is going to shit, the government is going to collapse, our debit is too high; My personal favorite is the new incoming president is going to take away all of our firearms - Gasp! I would love to hear more about this "downward spiral" - But first I'm going to take my gas guzzling truck to get a pedicure, and then to Starbucks, and then we can sit here in the AC (it's 95 here to today in Northern California) and you can tell me all about how the US is in a downward spiral. |

the holy roman empire was one of longest and most successful and distinguished of all empires in the history of civilization. And if you count the byzantine empire, which was the entire eastern roman empire that went on for another 1000 years, then it was and is still the biggest and successful of all empires. So what exactly is it you want "we" to learn from the romans so we are not doomed to repeat success? |

Wake up. It takes years to deteriorate. But it is happening right now. Slowly. Like all things that evolve... you don't see it when you stare at it, but wait a few hundreds years and take another look. |
