I have owned the following:

SONY--- Piece of shit (The screen went, the battery went, one of the USB ports went bad..... shall I continue?)

DELL- NO!!!

TOSHIBA-- Best damn computer I've ever owned. 4 years old and still kickin' strong...not one problem with it and I leave it running 24/7.

I have a Dell inspiron 8200.
Works like a charm, doesn't even overheat when I run it 4 days in a row. Excellent, excellent computer. I would recommend it to anyone. I've had it for a year, and I haven't had a single problem with it.

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200, too, and I love it. Best computer I've ever owned. I've never had a problem with it, and I do everything on it... even play Unreal 2.

I could be behind in the news, but to the best of my knowledge, Unreal 2 isnt out.

I have had my 8100 for about 1.5 years. I have beat the hell out of it and a leaky window at the Luxor filled it with water. After that there have been a few problems but overall it still works. I am posting from it right now. It sits in my docking station and is used for weeks at a time with no issues.

Toshiba.....I Have owned 2 of them. Never again.

Sony...No personal experience but my uncle has one and he hates it so he bought a low end Dell and is now much happier.

My next purchase will be another Dell with the internal wireless.

I am abandoning my Dell Inspiron 8000 after more than two years. It is great and Dell has replaced almost every part in it due to my 7x24 usage. I am moving to a Powerbook 17" time to get the hell away from Microsoft I am tired of Windows problems.

In a month I will now if I made the right decsion.

KingK7 03-12-2003 03:09 PM

I have had numerous Toshibas over the years, and they have NEVER broken down on me..
I am getting a new one now, and I am going with Toshiba again. Although I hear Dell is good as well. I am just familiar with Toshiba, so I'll go with that.
