I been enjoying shooting with my gopro, I think I'll have to get this when it comes out.

I thought it got delayed until March 2015. Looking forward to it.

Sure as hell beats the $2,200 I paid for a new Sony V5 cam back in the dawn of 8mm (sometime around '87). At 8 lux I had to carry the sun in my backpack to light a scene. :1orglaugh

Fixed lens, no lcd, yadda yadda yadda.

I paid 2200 for my xa-20....4500 way back when for a sony fx7, a gopro is NOT pitted against that type of camera so don't try to draw a comparison. It is a sports cam that is getting priced to ridiculous levels (it started around the 199 mark).

Nice I have been waiting for this for my drones, I have a few and shooting 4k at 30fps is awesome, Of course I would like to see 60fps but well im sure that will come next. Hmm.. Drone Porn ... :)

Kind of surprised its only at 30fps but I guess they will release a 60 then 120 fps version in the near future.

They've introduced a new entry level GoPro to the range too, the GoPro Hero, with a lot less video options available.

Hugely. It's like the jump from SD to full HD all over again.

That's why you're seeing LCD's at rock bottom prices and still dropping. Industry is saying everything is about to jump to 4K. LCD's will be betamax in about 15 months.

I'm going to Sturgis next year and want to get a helmet cam to record it. So I will probably get one of these

I have a hero 2 and a hero 3 black and I have to say as soon as they are available I will get the hero 4 black. Gopro revolutionized the wearable camera for sports 4k30 at 500 bucks is a deal. im sure 4k60 will come in the hero 5 but in all honesty they have to use a processor that can handle it the one in the hero 4 while very capable couldnt do it. I use the gopro for almost everything but porn scuba, offshore fishing, on my drones, on my bikes and the quality is without comparison...I have always been pleased with my gopro purchases.

I too had heard the March date but that didnt ring true because gopro usually does releases in time for christmas. the fact that I got the product announcement yesterday would tend to indicate Oct as was originally announced.

I'd go for an October release too. The way they've introduced it now with the specs and pics out last week and the official site updates with pricing etc all suggest sooner rather than later to me.

Just had my first Hero 4 black delivered this morning. Can't wait to have a play.
