New PINK FLOYD record - The Endless River
This news made my day yesterday.
Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album, The Endless River, in October 2014. It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album is produced by David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson. Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the summer. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...af747cb9d1b832 http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-en...s-9749012.html |
I'm excited to hear it!

Manzanera and Youth are phenomenal. Can't wait to hear this.

I can't wait to hear it :)

Very excited for this, as well as the new Annie Lennox (even though hers is just another covers album). New Bowie soon, too. Life is good.

The problem I have is...it sounds to me like this actually nothing new at all but rather instrumental music culled from a studio session 20 years ago. :(
It would be cool to have them get back together with Roger Waters and do a new album. But it might not be in the cards. |
No Roger Waters = No Pink Floyd

Personally I am not excited about some rehashed old tapes without the lead singer of the band. Just an attempt for Gilmour to make some additional money. Now I don't BLAME him at all...not with Rodger's touring with his productions of the albums Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall.

I felt disappointed as well when I heard it was old sessions from The Division Bell era. Too bad these guys can't put their egos aside and make new music together.

Van Halen are rumoured to be either in the studio...or mastering a new album - with Roth again.
I won't hold my breath - but there's hope. |
