Whatever you do don't ever consider getting a blood hound puppy (pic from today)

I am helping a friend train this guy. He is like a drinking buddy who you have a great time with but end up fighting with every weekend. This dog actually barks at me when I scold him. He pees while he walks and it looks like he is trying to write his name with his piss. But I love him and his is my friend. His name is Duke and he is 7 months old. He is going to get way way bigger than this.

VikingMan 09-22-2014 09:29 PM

His ears hang in the water bowl when he drinks. What a mess. LOL

Hope you have lots of space and time for a dog like that.

What a handful, but a good buddy when well trained.

aww, he is so pretty - he has a sweet face.

I have a Lab/Mastiff Mix and a European German Shepherd and they are huge too - they half ass listen to us - when they want to. lol

michael.kickass 09-23-2014 06:18 AM

He'll learn eventually, be patient.

pornguy 09-23-2014 06:38 AM

You better get some pro help training him or you will regret it.

He stays at my house often and he drinks like 5x what a normal dog drinks. But then he just pees it all out so his piss is like water with a slight musky smell. Then he emits this very strong musky smell from his skin and it soaks into everything in my house so after he leaves I can smell him for about 2 weeks. He is house trained but the moment I open the door and his nose smells fresh air he begins to pee:1orglaugh

He is cool in the fact that he is like a gator when he is in the water and to often totally submerges his head exploring things on he bottom of the lake. I have never seen that before from any dog. Another cool thing is he loves climbing all over downed trees. He often likes to take the path less traveled. A total explorer if I ever saw one.

iFriends 09-23-2014 07:47 AM

He's adorable! Good luck, will take patience :)

Antonio 09-23-2014 09:38 AM

Yes he is quite the strapping young stud but I have never seen any dog more terrified of coyotes. When he hears them he runs back to the door almost breaking it down.:1orglaugh It is obviously an innate instinct because he has never actually seen a coyote. I took care of a Siberian Husky a few years back who would actually chase coyotes.

that's weird for sure...my dog is afraid of rabbit but the other morning he tore out after a coyote...didn't come back for about 5-6 minutes either...

TrashyGirl 09-23-2014 02:13 PM

In addition to your beautiful pup, your lakeside setting looks amazing.

bagfull 09-23-2014 02:33 PM

You gotta be careful because apparently one coyote will lead the dog back to it's pack and they all go in for the kill.

Beautiful dog mate. I have a Staffie and she`s my best friend. Very unusual for a dog to duck right under the water! He certainly sounds a character. :)

DonX 09-26-2014 08:14 AM
