Actually working on a site like that right now. All will be released in due time.

However in the meantime http://www.vtc.com is the best 25 bucks a month you'll ever spend on your business.

i hate books.
if only there was a video it would be great.

SOmething to pop into the vcr or dvd player and eat and watch.

Then Id learn.

I looked of for one, but no videos exist..

galleryseek 03-11-2003 06:49 PM

welp, just like with flash.. creating good design work is 10% skill and 90% creativity/talent. learn the program.. and start practicing by copying other sites with good design techniques. then develope your own style and uniqueness from the experience.

pssssstttt like I said http://vtc.com

AdultNex 03-11-2003 06:49 PM

I find it it easier to use an online tutorial, because I can just Alt + Tab and I'm at Photoshop.

As opposed to getting a neck strain looking down at a book, etc.

Don't forget to add 30% Learn time curve. :)

Trust me, it takes time for you to develop your designing skills. Just starting out in an advanced program like Photoshop with no previous design skills is going to be a big start-- So be prepared for a huge learning curve.

Good luck! :)

I cant eat around my PC without getting sick. It smells too much like cum.

Thanks guys! Now I have some nice reading to do :)

PS. I already know photoshop a small bit, but I'm hoping to learn some cool effects and techniques and stuff. Right now stuff like this is the extent of my knowledge, which is quite sad:

yup... i've been designing for 5 years... funny to see my initial work from back then.. but as each design goes i get better..

but, i've found that starting out in photoshop, and then going to flash wasn't a very hard transition cause i already had a good design mentality.

Not too bad for a beginner... Keep learning, the time will come, and you'll be an expert in no time. :thumbsup

heres a tip for newbie designers...

when designing pages a lot of people start with a new document size of 800x600... which is wrong..

the IE browser takes up pixels within a 800x600 resolution... i forget what the EXACT pixels are, but i always start out with a 766x439 document, so ya don't cause any scrollbars.

and don't design a web page piece by piece, always start out with the full "face" of the site w/ a document size equal to the viewing area of the standard 800x600 res. (ie 766x439). then depending on what type of design, use a program like fireworks to splice it up into html.. or manually copy/paste/save the different elements of the design (usually for more simplistic designs).

:thumbsup

In my dreams perhaps. I'm the hack. My girlfriend is pretty good and is still trying to break into the porn end of things. Those were her suggestions :)

sumphatpimp 03-11-2003 07:52 PM

why you guys want to make it so complicated? just copy and paste other peoples stuff, your only posting dirty pics on the net?

Photoshops website Adobe or whatever it is, they have some video tutorials there on the site, some free, some you got to pay for.
