Hi guys. I came across a guy who draws porn versions of Simpsons, American Dad and other cartoons as well as of Superheros. Is there any site that buys this kind of content? Or is there any copyright issue there? How can he make some money out of it?

There is money in it. I had someone want to buy a .com from me some weeks ago. He got the .net and I now get +120 (and still growing) type-in visitors daily. I don't know why he didn't get the .com, but I'm not unhappy.

I think that after reading these, you may opt for other more secure niches as I did.

Not that I condone anything to do with under@g3 shit, but would cartoons be categorized as fantasy? Kind of like writing a story about it? I was always under the impression that shit is protected (as sick as it may be).

It's the same with anything...if the material is good, then then someone will like it. If someone likes it, then there's a way to make from it.

If it's the usual dime a dozen crap, then probably not.

Mostly it depends on context, for example the depiction of brief interludes in a book like Puberty Blues is fine. A story about a man abusing children in graphic detail would be child pornography.

The written word can be deemed pornography as much as a picture or video can.

That is very interesting question.
First of all - it's not about the content but the idea mostly. It's more close to the art - and it is art , but still pornography. There is not just one guy who draws Simpsons and American dad, - there are plenty of people who draws. But a few ones that makes money from it.

Sites that buy content - there are some major whales around that buy cartoon - and their representatives probably will respond - but from what I know - some of these sites are buying content directly from studios - and in studios are working 10, 20 , 30 artists - who work on the next manga movie. How come they will have like 24.000 content in their sites ? One artist cannot produce that much.

This content is not like the content produced by photographs - click and we have got 120 photos in one set. The artist is sitting, sweating, suffering, struggling - and at the end expects the people to enjoy, clap and comment - but also expects to be paid for this.

Some of the sites actually are hiring people to draw for them - asking about rates.
And the artist draws - if the he/she is good - they will hire him for the next gig.
But there are machines around who draw and produce stuff so fast - it's amazing!
That kind of guys don't look for distribution or someone to buy their thing - they open a site and does their thing inside. And before the guys around shoot me for this sentence I am talking about Julius Zimmerman, Armando Huerta, Jab and so on.

Now - is there money in cartoon porn - the answer is big YES - but all depends on the popularity of the artist. Yet again underpaid, underestimated. For the people often are trying to get advantage of us. They come and since the artist's statement is : I love art, I love to draw - people comes and asks for free thing. But when saying : I love to draw, but it has a price - that's a different thing.
About cartoon porn: There are people coming and asking : Can you draw me fucking my brother's wife ?!? / that is thing the regular porn cannot give you/. Can you draw my favorite game character with 25 dildos in her ass.... Can you draw me Homer Simpson being fucked by a giant Squid ?!?? - that cannot be presented anywhere but from artist.
It's a direct connection to the fantasy of the people. And they pay small to get it.

First - Deviant Art are very strict to that kind of content. Bart is considered to be kid in the Simpson's family - and that's enough to harm people's feelings. It's common practice to some people to find some stuff offensive and they report. I got some of my pictures turned down at DA because someone found them offensive one way or another :
I drew a woman cooking in kitchen while a man behind with pants down - saying something like : you're in the right place honey-/no genitalia was shown - but all was a joke. Someone from feminist organization wanted me banned - but life sucks sometimes...
4K collection means a lot of years of work /more like 7 or even 10/, unless he's one of those machines I admire. 5 to 10 years of existence on the internet and 4K stuff means he's not stranger so people should know about him. Who is he ? :-)
