Ho Do You Find A Programmer?

I've tried Craigslist, All I get from CL is people who spam me with their qualifications and fake portfolios no one actually reads the project description. When I reply to the CL replies I ask them do you have any questions about my project and I never get a reply back because zero of the programmers ever read my description! Freelancer And Elance all with no luck. Rarely do I find someone who isn't a project manager from India that actually understands what I need done. When I find someone who seems qualified they disappear and I guess they don't want my money!

I'm thinking about Odesk they are my last resort because the other sites are garbage in my opinion.

I hired someone on Elance and while I was sleeping he installed Malware on my server and turned it into a Bitcoin farm. When I woke up 14 years of work was gone and I had to pay people to clean up my server and restore all my files.

WTF do I do? Any suggestions?

Have you tried reaching out your local college? They can often refer candidates hungry for work experience.

myleene 08-29-2014 06:56 PM

Email me your project and its full description. I may be able to help.

dave90210 08-29-2014 07:07 PM

No I need a seasoned pro

Don't call me a "Ho".
I prefer the term 'Sex Worker'.

And I have no idea how you find a Programmer.
(Oh wait, yes I do: Woj)

I have one guy I trust on Odesk for php and have tried a few . If I do hire anyone besides him from there in the future I will make sure it is under their 2 week money back policy .

Good luck! Most programmers / web designers are wannabes and can't handle a real project. I don't have any suggestions on where to find someone (because I live under a stone ... or is that a bottle of whiskey) but if you want to contact me about what you need,
I will be glad to listen. The last 10+ years my business has been developing online software (websites, CMS, ecommerce) full time and recently looking into developing for the adult industry. I would be interested in what your needs are and will be straight up if it is something I can or can't do for you.

If you can't PM me , let me know and I will post an email address.

Ah, sorry. I assumed from the sites you were looking on that the opposite was true.

PornDiscounts-V 08-30-2014 11:32 AM

What kind of project?

From the programmers point of view: I often have people hit me up for little shit and I give them a quote and they are like, WTF? I paid less for the software I want you to hack up! But they don't understand the programmer that made the software was spreading his $25,000 fee over the thousands of purchases of his software.

When I find somebody that wants a large quality project I quote them $x,xxx to $xx,xxx and they flip out. They tell me how they could big it on elance and get somebody for $100 or $200 bux. Cool... But like you originally posted you never really know who that guy is. Often you pay him to install shit on your system or rip your project so he can do it on his own servers.

So the real question for the programmers here on GFY is if you want a seasoned pro are you ready to pay $100 to $200 an hour? Or are you thinking that much for the entire project?

How much are you paying? If your budget is at least decent you should get top programmers even on those freelance sites. I agree although about those sites being overrun by Indians and alike (pain in the ass in most cases).

If you still need someone, icq: 33375924 or email me at woj#a#t#wojfun#.#c#om to discuss details

carpocratian 08-31-2014 02:32 PM

Try dice.com. Back when I was doing contract programming full-time, it was the go-to place to advertise for programmers.

blackmonsters 08-31-2014 07:11 PM

I really don't see what the problem is.

Just use a fake nick to convince someone that their programmer sucks an should be fired then
use your real nick to hire the programmer.

:2 cents:

I do .NET programming. Hit me up if you need help with a .NET project.

find a program/script that you use often and contact the creators to ask for a custom programming quote. I found the programmer I use from the uugallery guys.
