Video Captures How Cops Treat Black People

"A cell phone video posted to YouTube this week shows a St. Paul police officer roughing up a black man who was apparently doing nothing more than sitting in the skyway, waiting to pick up his kids.

At 9:43 a.m. on January 31, police were summoned to the skyway in downtown St. Paul's First National Bank Building on a report of a man loitering. The video footage shows an officer asking the then-27-year-old man to provide his name.

"Why do I have to let you know who I am? Who I am isn't the problem," the man calmly replies.?* The Young Turks hosts John Iadarola (TYT University) and Michael Shure break it down.

So instead of being polite and mature as normal people, he responds by immediately being a dickhead? Maybe the problem is black culture and broken families... not police trying to do their jobs.....

Funny how all my black friends just say "yes sir" and "no sir" as I do and never seem to have these problems with "racist" police

REALLLLLLYYYY!!!!!

You don't get it, do you? You do not have to give the police your name legally and if you aren't doing anything illegal they are not supposed to detain, touch or arrest you!!!! No matter how big of a dick you are. They aren't supposed to be a better class of citizen than we are. THAT's THE PROBLEM!!!

That may be true but be prepared to deal with the consequences of that refusal and stop crying like a baby.

Its really you who doesn't get it!

I am not sure how it works in Opposite World where you are from, but nothing you said is factually correct in this world. Furthermore, its up to the cop to determine whether you are doing anything illegal or not,... not you.

Obviously the situation was handled poorly, but why is it in 95% of these videos, the so called victims immediately becomes aggressive and combative as soon as the police ask them anything. When they asked him his name, why couldn't he just have answered and told them he was waiting to pick up his kids, problem averted.

because then his cell phone wouldn't have captured a dope video which he can use to sue and settle outta court. :2 cents:

"Activism" when being stopped by a cop. You'll be a hero at the basement weed smoke but you may not be home for dinner.

I'm not a fan of some cops but I understand the normal function of cops. Probably the problem started with the report of "loitering."

The cops in St. Paul shot and killed someone today, too. They're on a roll.
